I came across this totally not photoshopped spy shot of next year's iPhone X. (iPhone XI? iPhone Xs?)

0.5x wide angle
1x normal
2x telephoto
4x telephoto

Ok, this started as a joke and would look really stupid but I wouldn't care if those specs were real, lol.

"But look at how many of his predictions are correct..."

I predict the sun will rise early tomorrow, and set a number of hours later. 100% successful predictions. Sick of hearing about the guy.

Some of his rumors were projected close to a year in advance for the iPhone 8/X about Face ID. And he's one of the most accurate, if not the most accurate analyst out there. So naturally MacRumors is going to report his insider information that he claims. If you don't like hearing about Ming Kuo or reading his predictions, then a rumor site may not likely be for you.

“would make for only limited improvements in aperture performance, we believe” ?

Please, bring it on! Upping the aperture even one stop would be a welcomed addition. Anything to improve low-light performance is a plus.

Thank god these supply chain noobs aren’t the ones designing iPhones. I absolutely hope that next year‘s phone has an improved camera. And if you think about it, it almost has to. They’ve made such a huge innovations in every other area of the iPhone X this year, the rear facing camera is one of the few parts left where they can make noticeable progress. If they want the people who bought the iPhone X this year to buy the iPhone XS next year, they have to improve it somehow other than just chip speed. Camera bumps are one way they’ve traditionally done that.

Give the SAME camera specs across all the phones!
That’s ridiculous. Why shouldn’t a more expensive phone have a better camera? And why shouldn’t a larger phone, that can fit bigger/better components, have a better camera? Because you want a smaller, cheaper phone and would like the laws of physics and economics to bend to your will? Not likely.

You do know that this is a rumors site, right?

Just make the phones thicker to get rid of the camera bumps. That will give us bigger batteries. It's a win win.

A thicker, heavier phone just so I can end the day at 60% instead of 35 or 40% is a win-win? Sounds like a lose-lose.

If you’re part of the 10 or 20% who burn through a battery in less than a day, get a battery case or recharge during the day. Don’t try to force everyone else to a worse option just so your particular (by far minority) use case can be satisfied.

But are they going to hide the front notch?
You mean have a big ass top bezel instead of the ears? No. If you mean put all 8 of the sensors/transducers under the screen? Also no.

Eventually some of the 8 might go under the screen and/or be reduced in size, allowing for a narrower (left to right) notch; some will migrate more towards the top, for a shorter (in height) notch. But it’s going to take an awful lot of innovation to get to no-notch.

C'mon Apple, why be cheap? We already pay what you ask for, directly switch to all-glass lens design. What happened to the early days of light years ahead?

That's why they persist in speccing the iPhones with cheap-arsed camera modules.

If sales of the X were worse then maybe Apple would feel pressured offer an iPhone with a competitive camera module.

There's no bump for 99% of the iPhone users who use a case to protect their delicate $1000 pocket computer.

Wow dramatic much?

I was thinking of a solid, straight-edged, thin bezel at the top. A layout that resembles more of a TV or computer monitor?

Not really.

Just make the entire top bezel the same thickness as the notch and make it a straight edge which would remove the ears and notch depending on how you view the world. lol

They could have left off the ears this year if they wanted a big top bezel; they added the ears in order to make otherwise wasted space usable.

They’ve already made the decision to give us as much display area at the top as they could, not to go the Samsung/LG route. Why do you think they’d take a step back and add more top bezel next year? Makes no sense.

The notch will shrink, but like I said, it’s going to take an awful lot of innovation before the top bezel is the same as the bottom bezel (i.e. no notch)
