Hello jumping to conclusions forums.
As far as jumps made on this forum, this one was actually fairly believable. Apple has shown historically that they aren't afraid to remove useful features from their devices. Remember when they removed the superdrive from the macbook... and then the iMac? Those were gone well before the rest of the industry even thought about removing them. The headphone jack's days are numbered.

No headphone jack? This is going to usher in a completely new level of thin.

Turns out I can't airplay directly to my ears.

Where have you been by not having an A18X iChip implanted in your brain?

Everything else is so yesterday.

Samsung has a 8nm and TSMC a 10nm chip.
TSMC is better in the winter. It's a little warmer.

Both ar blood powered, so no battery issue.
If you are cold blooded the TSMC hums a little when receiving base notes.

Chip updates via vaccination like a Flue shot.

I hate the EarPods. They just don't sound good and won't stay in my ear. I really really tried to use them rather than buying a pair of earphones but they just do not work for me at all. Unless they completely change the form of them Bluetooth won't make a bit of difference.

I'm also pumped! I think this highly supports water proofing for iPhone 7. One less port to worry about!

They could still keep it! I used to have a Sony Z something or other that was waterproof. The headphone port had a special coating on it so water didn't affect it! Was an awful phone mind, don't mind android but didn't t like the UI on the Sony .

hopefully they do something that ups the audio quality of bluetooth. (or use some other protocol)

i just got me a powerbeats headset and it still sounds like any other bluetooth-stereo headset has sounded over the last years. bluetoothy.

on the other hand, i'd hate to be stuck with the beats, when there's a better alternative from apple. maybe these "airpods" will just succeed the apple in ear headphones at that price range and look like a pair of earpods with less cable?

Ahhh now this is an exciting rumor and exactly why I follow MR. Nice reporting and investigation!

maybe an even thinner iPod touch (like the iPad Air was thinner as the previous one) ... may it is paper thin and you can fold it ... or so thin that you can't even see it. /s

"If we eliminate the headphone jack, we can make the phone .1 mm thinner!" - Apple

"Just leave it alone and add .1 mm of battery." - everyone else
We could be heading for iPod Paper territory.

Makes sense for when Apple eventually removes the headphone port. I mean, it's not like I want it to happen, but you just know it's gonna happen.

If history serves as any indication you are correct. CD drives, floppy disk drives, etc. - Apple is notorious for pushing the envelope in removing what they consider dated technology in exchange for something better well before anyone else even considers doing it.

Some people will be upset but it's just growing pains. I don't think any of us miss floppy disks and CDs now.

I would LOVE some wireless EarPods. For the money, EarPods sound ridiculously good. You have to spend $150+ to get earbuds that sound better.

Are you listening to mp3s, accs, or lossless? I tried earpods once and now they sit in my phone boxes never unpacked.

I use some $30-40 Sony's that blow earpods out of the water.

Anyone ever need a new pair of earpods- I'll sell you some, brand new, never used.

The Chinese have been making wireless "EarPods" for a long time now. Just have a look at Ebay! I've been thinking of getting a cheap pair for the gym as I love how the EarPods fit. Good thing Apple has decided to create their own of, presumably, infinitely better quality.

No you don't. The Xiaomi Piston v3's cost $20 and completely destroy the EarPods in sound quality and isolation.

Unless you mean non in-ears, and even in that case a cheap pair of Senny's (MX 170) sound better.
