Apple logo slow to show up after HDD upgrade.

Hey guys,

So I just bought a Seagate momentus XT HDD for my 2010 i7 15" MBP. I clonded the drive using Super Duper from the old drive (500GB Toshiba) to the new drive using a USB SATA enclosure.

I now have the new drive installed. Once the Apple logo shows up it boots very fast, but it takes like 30 seconds for the logo to show up almost as if it is having trouble finding the boot drive.

I have run Onyx's full automated service whihc verified startup disk, verified and repaired permissions, emptied caches, etc.

Any ideas what may be causing this?

Nevermind guys. As sson as my spotlight index was recreated after running Onyx I restarted and the apple logo showed up after like half a second.

Anyway, it's better to reset PRAM after a hard drive replacement.

Yes... Agree!!!! I done that before, do a reset PRAM!!!
I guess this will scan and remember the new hardware~ Who knows... But it will be faster

So every time when you've change any hardware, better of to do a reset PRAM
