Actually, it was not implicit.

The :D can be interpreted as extreme happiness and/or excitement about a subject or topic.

I think a more appropriate emoticon to use would be the :p or  , especially if I was joking or being sarcastic.

Wow.. Six in one area! I have only been to two and each time they are freaking packed.

I do like the look of the exterior of the building. Hey if they can generate enough business for number six, all the more power to them.

Looks like a great location.

I wonder if there are die hard :apple: fans that make a point of visiting all of the Apple Stores in their area/country?

If there is a store in the new Apple HQ, I plan to visit that one.

I don't really go to Brooklyn too much, but I've been to Park Slope, Bedford Ave, DUMBO and a couple of other places... All at night tho Lol.

I'm sure there's a spot somewhere there.
Those places do not have Apple type of foot traffic.

That's like 5 minutes from the flagship 5th avenue cube store. Seems odd but I'm sure they know what they're doing.

Those sure can't be N.Y.minutes….lol….the last time I was in Manhattan, traffic was snarled but good! :p
Btw, another gorgeous building. They sure know how to pick 'em.

Edit: And yes Hammie, I too do realize the interior will change. ;)

I can't think of an area in Brooklyn that is trendy enough with enough foot traffic to warrant a Apple store, can you?

Near the Barclay Center? Or in the Fulton Mall? Fulton Mall is not "trendy" but the stores in there do a tremendous amount of business. The Barclays Center is kind of trendy and the mall across from it is huge and does business. Neither location is going to be all that good looking from an architectural standpoint though.

Now that you mention it, not only have I been to all five currently in NY, but I've bought something from four of them. I've never bought anything from the one in the Meat Packing District, I don't think.

Brooklyn.. with all the shady camera dealers..

To fit right in, they sell the computer to you and then say "it doesn't come with a battery" and talk you into buying one on the side. But you're getting a screaming deal on this computer, and even with that battery purchase, you're still saving money!

Then they tell you it doesn't normally come with a power adapter, but they're going to throw that in, and an extra battery, so you're really getting two! All for the best price ever!

But that's not all! Because before you can leave the store, you must pay a handling charge of $69.99, and with that you will get a deluxe (vinyl) carry case, screen wipe package, and three years of Avast AV.

...and then they tell you that your warranty is good -anywhere- (anywhere because you have to ship to them.. for a $39.95 service fee, plus shipping).

Yay, Brooklyn camera and electronics shops.

The light poll that was there in 1922 is way nicer than the one there now. And to think that at some point they must have just thrown that away...

i think they might re-use them where traffic lights aren't necessary.. for instance, nassau ave in greenpoint got a facelift last year and those are the style lamp posts they used. they look like cast iron that's been refinished.. the traffic light post that went up are the newer style but the rest are like the one in the picture.
i'll post a pic of one tomorrow and you be the judge.

[Edit]- nope, just checked.. they're reproductions / not the originals.. they're super expensive.. i feel fancy now since my neighborhood has these or similar poles :)

Plenty of streets in Brooklyn have a lot of foot traffic. Plus, the presence of a prestige store like Apple will further drive foot traffic.

They should find a location near the stunning work in progress that's the Brooklyn Bridge Park. Lots of trains have stops within a few blocks' walk (2, 3, A, C, F... also two ferries, and there's parking for your rented or owned bike! The sections that are already open draw people night and day (I think it's open from like 6am to midnight or 1am). The park has boat launches, classes for kids (about marine biology, tidal pools etc.), a carousel, dog runs, food, free WiFi, what's not to like. So if Apple opened a store nearby you could not only bring your gear along for the trip but stop into Apple and cruise for upgrades :)
