Bigger is better. Even your wife knows it.

I know "to each his own", but as someone who thinks the smaller iPhone 6 is bordering on almost too large for my tastes, I am stunned at the popularity of the Plus model. I also understand that we're using these devices less as phones these days as well, but on the occasions that you do use them as phones, I think you look ridiculous with this cookie sheet next to your face.

I've got an iPhone 6 today from my local Apple Store (happened to check the stock levels at just the right time it appears!)

This is after I went for an LG G3 when my upgrade was due. I thought I would try Android and a bigger phone.

I was impressed by stock Android (also had a Nexus 5) but it was the size of it I hated. I don't have the biggest hands in the world but I found it too unwieldy.

The iPhone 6 is, for me, the perfect size.

And of course I still think iOS is the best mobile OS experience.

Each to their own, of course!

Side note: three month old LG G3 for sale!

True, but I will work out that way based on the fact that people waiting have already placed their orders.

But even if that is not the case, more production will mean that everyone will get a phone earlier, which is a good thing.

I am not surprised.

I had all intentions of getting the smaller iPhone 6, but the way the pre-orders where going(or not going), when I found a combination that was able to add to my cart, it happened to be the plus model.

Now that I have the plus, I will not back to a smaller phone.

I currently use an iPhone 5s, and I'm waiting on a new iPhone 6 Plus to arrive. My phone is provided by my company - I do off hour emergency/critical response support. So I had to justify getting a new phone. I wanted (needed with my aging eyes) a larger screen to see internal email and documents, tired of squinting and peering over my glasses. I use it less as a voice phone up to my ear (hands free bluetooth in my car) and more to access the internet, the company's intranet, work related apps, email, and text. I don't take movies, but will take pictures (often work response related). I have a personal iPad (wi-fi & cellular) that I bought for my movies, books, and music, so I don't use my company iPhone for these.

I was on the fence between the 6 and 6 Plus. I normally carry my phone in my front pocket of my jeans or slacks, so I am concerned about it being too big to comfortably fit in my pocket. Would have loved if Apple had gone with a 5 inch iPhone instead of the 4.7.

The deciding factor was not my original justification - a larger screen - but battery life. I need to be able to have a phone that's available for at least 24 hours without seeing a charger. I have a Mophie battery case on my 5s and love the battery life I get between it and the iPhones internal battery that usually gets me through the day, with the Mophie as an emergency backup if it turns out to be a long day in the field.

While Mohpies are not yet out for iPhone6/6 Plus, I assumed the size will be of comparable ratio/form to the existing ones for 5/5s. So putting a Mophie or any battery case on an iPhone 6 would make it almost the same size as an iPhone 6 Plus but without the larger screen. Decision made.

I hope a lot more cause my order was placed on the night of the 9/19 and I'm not expected to receive until mid Nov. 2 freaking months of waiting

And no, I can not walk into a store to buy it. The downside of being part of a corporate billing.

You know... I don't believe we should get all our phones first since Apple decided to roll them out to everyone at once. However, I wonder if any other countries get bombarded with as many iPhone commercials as America? Apple, the people who want the iPhone 6 plus either already have it, or if you're in the majority like me, are waiting for it to arrive (hopefully by Christmas!). So quit showing so many damn iPhone 6 commercials because they are driving me crazy!

You don't need a triangular wheel to make a great modern car.

I have used a Plus since late September and it has been a very great experience so far in this month. Large screen with high PPI and accurate color, and the battery life is crazy on this thing. The problem is that this phone has made me use my iPad mini 2 (LTE) much less.

So, your saying that you would be totally happy with the first OS that was released by APPLE on your MAC computer? Ok, so be it. You are in the minority.

----------

This is the second ramp up for Plus They already did one, and delayed the 12" iPad.

Will you PLEASE keep up!

Well, they need to ramp up the ramp up and then ramp that up...lol... Still nothing in my area for 6+ for any carrier any size.

No, I think you would be in minority wanting Apple to change the basic layout of the OS in every release.

All countries aside. There is limited supply for EVERY iPhone release. Why can't they just start production earlier and make a TON of iPhones for the release. Has there EVER been a flagship iPhone release where they produced too many??? Though i know nothing about supply chain logistics/strategies. Just noting that there never seems to be enough for Average Joe to just walk into an Apple store and buy the new iPhone. :(

Because it would be very expensive and pointless ?

They would have to stockpile them for months to accumulate enough to satisfy the initial demand, instead of selling them as soon as they could, plus there would be a bunch of people whining "how come they are stockpiling all those phones its unfair I want mine now".

Or they would have to ramp up production to cope with the initial sales demand for say 50m phones in the first month and then shut it all down again to about 10m a month, which would be insanely expensive and logistically almost impossible, they enough problems hiring 200,000 workers.

Nov 2 is like next week, relax.

I bought the 6 plus and sold my 4S and iPad Air. So far (about a month), I have found the 6+ to be an acceptable replacement for the Air. I like having only one device to carry around and contain all of my apps/data/etc.

Sorry for the delay.

Do you read books on your 6+? The is the main thing I use my iPad Mini for but I love it for that.

Now that the Jailbreak is out, it's time to open up my 6+, just having buyers remorse...... (I bought the 128GB unlocked sim-free version, thing costs more than an Macbook Air.)
