Apple Loses Another Top Executive to OpenAI

Seems like some of you wondering why people are leaving for OpenAI etc have not seen the silly salaries and bonuses OpenAI, Meta etc. are paying.
It's astronomical.
Some people getting pay packages upwards of $100M.
That's why they're leaving.
Any more questions?
(is there anyone here not willing to join a "sinking ship" for $100M?)

That's the problem: Just throw money out and watch them lap it up like dogs. Granted I can't completely blame them (it is a lot of money), but why can't you take pride in what you do AND earn that money? Maybe I sound like a poor person here, but I think taking pride in your work and changing the world for the better is something that's sorely missed in the US.

Open AI can hire everyone they want.

They cannot “hire” a complete ecosystem like Apple has.

They cannot poach macOS, iOS, etc. to go work for them.

It’s been over a year since that cheesy Johnny Ive OpenAI video infomercial dropped, and hardware is nowhere to be seen.

Wizard of Oz business strategy: "Don't look behind the curtain!"

Once they launch the actual product, and it flops, reality might set-in with respect to stock (over-) valuation. Strategy is to keep "investors" in perpetual hope of big profits with breakthrough product now anytime soon (pinky swear) ™️

Good luck to him. Both Vision Pro and OpenAI are facing pressure on all sides, I do not think it was an easy decision.
