I am fine with this. I love GoPro and they need more help than Apple right now. GoPro has been struggling.

There is probably only so many GoPro type cameras you can sell. I would say the market is almost saturated.
I have one but the extremely wide angle view can get boring very quickly!

On that note a friend got one of his converted to have a new lense mount which he uses on a drone now. That could be the next thing for them to offer different lens options.

Yeah. I have multiple lenses for my gopros and Sony action cameras. One a long zoom lens so you can see paintballs on impact while playing the game.

But yeah. That's why they are struggling. The innovation just isn't there. Mostly I think due to size, and battery limitations.

Having the same 19 people design Apple's products for so long is why their designs have become conservative and bland. They desperately need some new ideas and fresh thinking in that team.
[doublepost=1460596904][/doublepost]The iPad Smart Keyboard is not wireless. It's connected to the iPad and doesn't work when it's not connected.

I would argue that the industry copying them has made their designs bland.

'Apple products used to stand out' I keep hearing 'now the iPhone looks like the Galaxy' - Yes, because the entire industry makes their products more Apple-like.

And a lot of those decisions end up getting made above the designers and developers so many improvements don't really end up out there even though they might actually exist.
Huh, that's actually a good point I overlooked. Case in point though is Eddy Cue's final say on iTunes, leading to the steady degradation of the Music app. We're stuck with a useless Radio tab that's only useful as a reminder of Apple Music and Beats 1, which has been another disappointment in the lack of variety of music played on it.

I wish him luck. With such a long career at Apple, I'm sure Coster contributed to many of the products I have loved. Being VP of Design is an amazing opportunity. I'm sure there's some combination of wanting new challenges, seeing GoPro's potential, and wanting a title worthy of his experience. On one hand it sucks for Apple to lose a guy like that, but on the other it's great for us when talented people go to other places because we get another company making wonderfully designed products.

It must be really hard to design stuff that looks like a metal cutting board. To sit there for hours or days at a a time thinking about whether to put a .23 bezel or a .24 bezel on a battery cable. I know that is cheeky... hats off these guys... a great design is when people don't notice the design.

As a fan of apple and GoPro, I really think GoPro could use this. With the soon launching GoPro drone, they need all the help that they can get.

Well apparently he was as 23 year veteran. New blood isn't always a bad thing.
Ive has been there 24 years. New blood isn't always good. New blood, like Garrett DeBry, can also design crap like the Apple car abomination on the home page right now, lol.

Right... THE NEW APPLE CAR!... Which is just totally made up by enthusiasts who really have no clue. Click bate will be click bate.

Meanwhile... This guy has it all figured out.

My opinion is they are in an a ultra niche market which is fun. But I think they hit their ceiling and fun has met reality.

They have nothing to differentiate themselves from the cheap knock offs. Maybe buying DJI early on would have kept the hype going.
