Hi All,

Does anyone find the upgrade process for the iPhone stressful not because of the cost but because of the lottery of getting a faultless device?

Each year we have a raft of issues with screen quality and other quality control issues and it’s a frustrating time.

I don’t really have a problem with the cost, although they are getting expensive now but I guess I expect faultless at these prices.

This is not a dig at Apple before I get flamed, it’s most tech these days.

Anything that’s mass produced into the millions like an iPhone, there will be phones with defective with displays, hardware issues, batteries, etc. The only reason you hear about it is because you have those who will talk about it on a tech site, but the majority of iPhones that are manufactured and sold, will have no issues for consumers for years to come. Apple still has high quality standards, but they are not perfect either.

I’ve owned iPhones since the first gen and have only ever had to replace one phone, a 6 Plus that was overheating. I think Apple has a pretty darn good track record, all things considered.

No. I get a good working phone, cool. I get a bad working phone, cool too. Manufacturer warranty.

For those that said there are no problems with quality there are loads of threads already!

Every year the same thing, puts me off upgrading due to chances of getting a poor screen or dust etc.....
