I’m surprised a supposedly safety conscious company like Apple could’ve missed something like that.
Putting that warning on them isn't going to prevent this.Parents aren't giving their kids AirTags to play with. Kids get ahold of them through whatever they're attached to. What's something people attach AirTags to? Keys.
If you've ever had a kid, you'd know kids love to play with keys. Some parents who are exhausted from working and taking care of the child can easily forget/overlook that AirTag on the keyring.
It’s a term used in the US to describe parents who take far too much interest in their children’s activities (e.g. Beverly Goldberg). Not used widely outside of the US (Canada, perhaps?).
EXACTLY! 👍🏾children who would swallow these can't read your "don't swallow warnings"
parents who don't have the sense to keep small electronics out of the mouths of children shouldn't be parents
What's a helicopter parent?
Thank you... Good to know there still are some of those around.A parent who "hovers" around their kids, keeping an eye on them at all times.
I only remember swallowing a small marble when I was about 2. But it came out on its own (reason why I remember swallowing it)Some of us with older brothers who took things apart and left them lying about, were lucky to survive childhood, lol.
Gun manufacturers? Pfft, how passé. It’s F-150s and Cybertrucks that kill people these days. Have you heard of it? Time to ban trucks and make truck manufacturers liable for any carnage committed by the drivers. 🚚The funny fact is that devices that could be used for stalking have been sold for many years, and nobody complained about it.
Now that there's people using their AirTags to stalk, it's Apple's fault. By the same principle, sue the gun manufacturers because some people use them to kill.
Single-use coin cells are a danger to kids and pets, it’s a pain to have to change them, and they’re not great for the environment.
Would be great to see Apple release a wirelessly rechargeable AirTag in the future, perhaps using the Apple Watch charger.
And a rechargable one is e-waste after it can't hold a charge. Which is about 10-15 years. I'd 100% rather have replacable batteries.
I miss the days when we did not have to do things like this. The owner's manual for my first vehicle taught you how to gap the points in the distributor; modern car owner's manuals tell you not to drink the contents of the battery.
No, you can wipe it off with an alcohol pad and then dry it. Works fine in an AirTag.The bitter coating has to be sanded off before use in the airtag or else there is no reliable circuit.
I use a different brand to avoid this faff.
