Apple Magic Keyboard And Trackpad 2

In a fit of madness last year, I bought both the Space Gray Magic Keyboard and Trackpad 2 for my Mac mini.

Does anyone know if Apple has a battery replacement program for these devices? Or are they essentially disposable when the batteries give out or only usable via USB then?

Finally the right set of keywords yielded an answer from Google:

Looks like the keyboard and trackpad can be replaced by Accessory Battery Service at $29 each.

That makes me feel better.

They also seem to work when plugged into the computer, as a fallback. (I mean, I assume they still work tethered if the battery dies.)
