Hi everyone! I recently bought a dark grey Magic Keyboard with numeric Keypad. After some days using it I noticed something different from my old Wireless Keyboard I used before. I don't really like how it feels when I type. Keys are too shallow, I dont' like the feedback when I type (seems no key travel) and I always have to look when I type (Because I don’t feel the keys) and I often type the wrong letter.

I went to the Apple premium reseller in my town to try the magic keyboard they have in store and it seemed to be different to me.

Could be possible that I got one with a butterfly mechanism instead of the new scissor mechanism?

Thanks!

No. There is no desktop keyboard with Butterfly switches.
Where did you purchase yours?

From amazon. 6% discounted on original price. I thought it had butterfly switches because of the feeling. They Keyboard I tried in store (the new one sold with Mac Pro) seemed to be different to me.

Maybe you received a fake one. Highly unlikely though. If you don't like it return it and order a new one directly from Apple. As far as I know there are no differing revisions of that keyboard, just one. It is possible though that what you are experiencing is simply differences in manufacturing.

I'm 100% sure the one I tried in the store was different. There is zero key travel, I always make a lot of mistake, it's pure garbadge this keyboard. Very disappointed. I will return it.

I believe there’s an older version of the numeric keyboard, perhaps wired, but there may have been a model in between the wired and latest keyboard. The experts here could weigh in on that to confirm. Still, I suspect you were typing on the same keyboard and reaching differing opinions at separate times. I’ve always found it to be such a polarizing design.

I have a question: why the actual price of the magic keyboard with numeric keypad on the Apple store is 149 Euro (full price) but you can find it discounted on other retailers? I hope those discounted aren't flawed.

This is true of any other manufacturer who sells their goods through other retailers. It’s the same product, in new condition, but the retailer is willing to accept a lower profit margin to drive sales whereas the manufacturer wants to preserve their profit margin. Apple is notoriously obsessive over their profit margins. You shouldn’t fear that you’re getting a lesser, used, or refurbished product from another retailer unless the item is explicitly labeled open box or refurbished.
