new to apple, used to thunderbird (window version) that detect your language and check the spelling automatically. I write emails everyday in 3 languages and so far what i do is: in a new email, right clic to open a menu, then clic spelling and grammar / clic show spelling and grammar / choose your language / close the menu. Mac is great, there MUST be a plug in or a faster way. THANKS for any advice.

At the top of the list with the languages, it says Multilingual ;)
I said GREAT!!! then i tried and the multilingual does a really poor job... I've tried several french words with the wrong spelling, in french it does the job but in the multilingual option it doesn't... Too bad! :(

I have the same problem here. I uses two languages on a daily basis and it's just a pain to open the Spelling and Grammar and switch languages each time. And the auto is not very good.

The only solution that I've found was to let the Spelling and Grammar window open so I can quickly switch languages but a bundle that could add a select language pulldown menu in Mails and Safari would be great.

Yes, seems to be no simple solution with apple mail. So may be better to go back to thunderbird mail... (got to export mails and address book again... How to do that?...rrrr)
