I had this problem once before but I can't remember for the life of me how I managed to solve it!

What is happening is that every time Mail is loaded up on my parents Macbook it automatically creates a new blank email with an attachment called "Mail (391 kb)".

No amount of deleting it will get rid of it. Every time it is closed it reappears again when Mail is loaded the next time! What on earth is going on with it?

Anyone? Even a hint at where to start looking for a solution would be great.

Is it a message in your "Drafts" folder?

No, it is literally a new email (the same as when you click on New Message) started in a window that pops up when Mail loads.

If I click on the Mail (391 kb) attachment it starts another new email.

It never ceases to amaze me how parents manage to find new and exciting ways to mess up an OS that should be idiot proof!
