A few years ago I found some website that created signatures for use with Apple Mail (the proper sort of signature that includes my company logo etc.).

I shutdown my Mac and restarted it and Mail has deleted my signature and I can't remember how I made it.

What's the best way to have a professional email signature that includes my company logo?

If I remember rightly, it was some sort of code I had to copy and paste into the Signatures panel, so I don't think so.

At some point in the past, Apple made signatures in Mail difficult to configure. This is probably when you did that lost signature.

Since then, they have restored the simple method of creating one. So, you should probably give the copy/paste a shot.

It doesn't work. I just get a massive image and some unformatted text.

It sounds like it was HTML based, and copy/pasting an older one into Prefs should restore it.
