I am unable to receive mail on my 3 Apple Mail accounts. This morning I spent an hour on the phone to a VirginMedia techy. He took over my computer, altered all my mail settings in Apple mail e.g. pop.ntlworld.com to pop.viginmedia.com, pop accounts to imap, port to 993. After all this he told me that Apple Mail was the problem as I could get my mail on webmail.

I have had these accounts for the past 10 years, 8 years on a PC and the last 2 years on a imac and never had a problem like this before. It seems to have happened since Virgin Media altered their systems.

Can someone help please ?.

Have a check of this first, just found it on the Virgin Media site, you need to log into web mail first and enable IMAP

To enable IMAP in your Virgin Media Mail account:
Sign in to your Virgin Media Mail account.
Click Settings at the top of any Virgin Media Mail page.
Click Forwarding and POP/IMAP.
Select Enable IMAP.
Configure your IMAP client and click Save Changes.

server names should be

imap.virginmedia.com & smtp.virginmedia.com in mail.app

these are the full settings you will need to enter into mail (these are for outlook, but the same settings will work)
