apple mail retrieve all email

hi, i just upgraded to leopard n noticed mail is now different. everything works fine, except it wont download all email from my pop inbox now =/ it only downloads new ones n i want it to store all the ones on my pop account. is there a way to get apple mail to sync ALL my emails regardless of if its read or unread from my gmail inbox? thanks =)

How di d you do it?

Sorry for ripping up an old tread. But I have just started using mac and "mail".
And I face the same problem of not being able to retrieve all my stored mails, only the new ones seems to appear.
how did you solve this problem?

I actually have the exact opposite problem. Mail downloaded most of my old mail but stopped downloading mail that are newer than four months old and I can't get it to download any new mail I get on gmail.
