Does anyone know how to make a bootable USB with this? I have an old 2007 MacBook that is compatible with this. The file downloads as a DMG that runs as a package, not a .app. Anyone know how to make it happen? Thanks in advance!
Edit--I should have mentioned that there is no OS on the machine currently, so I cannot upgrade it in place.

Does anybody know a way I can download the installer for Mac OS X Mavericks? I can't find it anywhere on the Apple website, and the ones on Google I don't want to use incase they are infected with viruses.

@wine99 Not sure if Apple has a downloader for 10.9...only 10.7 and 10.8 now. If you are a developer with a paying account, I think you (maybe?) get access to that.

They made the client Lion available but not Lion Server if you had it installed and need to re-install in which case you're out of luck.

Interestingly came across this just to day while looking at the release date for Monterey... following the link to the download page I noticed two apparently conflicting statements.

You will also need one of the following Mac models:
  • iMac (Mid 2007-2020)
  • MacBook (Late 2008 Aluminum, or Early 2009 or newer)
  • MacBook Pro (Mid/Late 2007 or newer)
  • MacBook Air (Late 2008 or newer)
  • Mac mini (Early 2009 or newer)
  • Mac Pro (Early 2008 or newer)
  • Xserve (Early 2009)
Any Mac that shipped with Mac OS X Mavericks or later will not be compatible with this installer.

Having a Late 2015 iMac seems to qualify in the list of needed Mac models { iMac(2007-2020) },
yet any Mac shipping after Mavericks release will not compatible with this installer.

Certainly there be installation juju to be performed any Mac released after October 2013.

Does anyone know if there is a way to run older versions of macOS on newer hardware? I'm thinking virtualization. Thanks in advance!
