Apple is adding multiple new features to the Maps app in iOS 14, including Apple Maps icons that will let users know when they're approaching speed cameras and red-light cameras along a route.

Little detail is given about the new camera warning icons, but Apple says that they will let users see where individual cameras are located on the map.
Maps lets you know when you're approaching speed cameras and red-light cameras along your route. You can also see where individual cameras are located on the map.
It's not clear if this feature will be limited to select areas, countries or will have a wide rollout, and it does not appear to be implemented in the initial iOS 14 beta as an examination of the Maps app with various routes did not display icons for traffic cameras.

Apple Maps is gaining cycling directions, electric vehicle routing, and a new Guides recommendation that will help you find the best places to visit when taking a trip to a new location. Many of these features have not been added to the initial iOS 14 beta.

Nice, this with EV charging points is shaping up to be a nice update to Apple Maps which I personally prefer over Google.

heres a shocking revelation, not speeding also means you avoid a ticket, ever think of that?

honestly this feature needs to be illegal. It’s not ok to point out speed cameras to help morons break the law more easily.
Where I live the cameras are put on problem intersections. I’ve seen people slam on the brakes, which can cause accidents because they were not paying attention and only notice them at the last second. I wouldn’t mind this because it helps prevent the brake-slamming yet still lets The intersection benefit from the reduced accidents.

What do you mean?

Seems dangerous to point out the speed cameras.
You can control your music within the Waze app. It seems like such a simple feature. I was sure it would get included in the next update. I attached a screenshot.30CD5DE4-3924-4D73-B9F1-706281EDA4E4.png

Waze has Spotify, Pandora and Deezer integration. Yandex Maps has Yandex Music. Etc.

it’s dangerous and even illegal in certain countries (France) to display speed traps.

It’s illegal in a lot of places here in the US as well.

Actual fact: many places (including California) require red light cameras to be publicly disclosed and warning signs posted to ensure their job is safety, not revenue. Their job should to prevent you from running the light, everything else is secondary.

Your idea of speed trap may be different than mine. I have always viewed a speed trap as a speed limit change specifically used to trick people into speeding for the purpose of writing tickets.

Look when the speed limit is 60 and everyone's going 80, I'm going to be at least somewhere in the middle.

Residential streets, I never speed. On the highway I push 10-15 over the limit like most people do.
