CarPlay Apple Maps on BMW HUD "freezes" occasionally

Strange one - since iOS26 my HUD (and in-dash) Apple Maps directions occasionally freezes on the last direction indicated. This happens most often (almost always) if I deviate from the suggested route and Maps has to recalculate, but can happen (rarely) even if I follow the route. The main iDrive CarPlay Maps display does not freeze.

I can get rid of the freeze by ending and then re-starting the route or by rebooting the iDrive.

Anyone else seeing this? Any ideas?

I have a BMW and have not noticed this issue but I’ll pay more attention and report back if I do. I usually use the main screen. One thing I did notice about the HUD navigation is if you have an active route and turn the car off, then turn it back on, the HUD route instructions disappear. Have to restart the route to get them back in the HUD.
