Apple Maps - Re Route Around Traffic

I use Waze as a rule when Driving but prefer the Apple Maps display, does anyone know if Apple Maps re routes around traffic once you are into your journey?? Or does it stick to the route you pick??

It does re-route you if it finds a faster route (that was added about 2 years ago). I've seen this quite often.

thanks, I guess I should just have tried it, but really don’t like sitting in traffic!!!!
