Apple maps vs Google maps?

Has apple closed the gap do you think in terms of being the app to use for your iphone? are people using apple maps more compared to google maps?

Every time I use Apple maps I'm disappointed. They were too late to the race and I doubt they'll ever catch up. Google maps is better in almost every way(aside from iOS integration, which I have no problem living without.)

I only use Apple Maps now. I actually deleted Google Maps off my iPhone. Google maps is great, but I don't prefer to have two Map applications, when I only use Apple Maps. Apple maps has improved significantly over the years in my opinion.

The quality of the map data can vary greatly by location.

For going to an address, I like Apple Maps. If I'm using a Map app to find something nearby, Google Maps does better for me, in the area I live.

Because the POI data is inaccurate. A map app isn't very helpful if it routes you to a location that isn't what you searched for.

Started with Google Maps and have been turning to Apple maps more now. Both work well where I live though it's nice to have both.

Apple Maps for annoyance.

Apple maps is useable now. It still takes me on the longest routes and is nowhere near as feature rich as google maps. The only reason I use it is b.c CarPlay does not allow 3rd party maps.....at least not currently.

They may allow it. It seems like each year they open things up a little more.

Google, never used Apple maps. Tried waze, wanted to acces my location all the time, so that was a big no.

Fix for that is Settings -> General -> Location change reporting (turn it off). Done.

Apple maps is still garbage. Google maps will direct me to the front door of a suite within a large strip mall. Apple maps will just drop me in the middle of the parking lot. Seems to be the case with a lot of my destinations in Apple maps....I'm directed to a "general" location vs the exact location.

Apple maps have improved..I have always preferred google maps as they showed traffic conditions.....but now apple maps does that and has closed the gap.

I am a delivery driver and Apple maps is the SatNav I now use and it always gets me there and redirects me If there is an accident. I also love using it with the Apple Watch as it taps your wrist for the next turn and shows the information on the watch, much easier than using the phone.

I have CarPlay wihich has apple maps built in. When i need to navigate through traffic waze picks up routes that apple maps does not. I do use both but if I had a choice of one I would go with Waze or Google Maps.
