The iPhone is limited to the apps from the app store, and not fromthurd party apps. This is Apple basically monopolizing and controling what you do on your iPhone. Is this entirley legal?

    It is called a business.

All Mac OS apps are limited to Mac OS. Does that make Apple a monopoly?

Nope. iPhone <> "only smartphone". Therefore, no monopoly.

Umm... If that was the case cell phone makers would be in bigger trouble. Just because you can make something more open, does not make not doing it illegal.

    This is a flawed arguement.

The same arguement could be made about any product. It's baseless.

Pretty soon you will be wanting to put a hood from a 1969 Camaro Z-28 on a 2008 Chrysler Sebring hardtop convertible.

Or put Garman formatted map data into an iGo GPS unit.

Or anyone of a million other products.
