I've never really started using motion until now, (Did not know what I was missing!) does anyone know any good site's similar to http://www.videocopilot.net, I never used After effects either and I don't own it but I browsed that site and wished it was all for motion.

And if anyone has some good motion work incorporated into their projects please post it!

Not entirely sure what motion is used for if you have AE. But i read all the time that people use both...

Motion and AE are used for the same things, motiongraphics and compositing. Just like Final Cut and Premier are for editing. I have AE and would like to learn it but I learned Motion first so that's what I'm more comfortable with and can get things done faster. AE is more sophisticated in some ways but Motion has other things that make creation easier and every upgrade brings functionalities that close the gap between the two. So, it's just what you are used to and what you are trying to accomplish.

Check http://filmmakeriq.com/2009/08/222-apple-motion-tutorials/
that helped me out quite a bit

As Laurim mentioned, Digital Juice has some awesome stuff.

Look at BorisFX and Noise Industries for some plugins. There's a bunch of others but I don't remember them.

Does anyone even use motion? Learning it seems like a dead end.

The same could've been said about FCP a few years ago, given how Avid was and is still considered the industry standard. Still, plenty of post-houses cutting on FCP. Unless  abandons its pro video suite (which seems to be the hot rumor) Motion has nowhere to go but up.

Wow. Thanks for posting the links. To the OP, good luck with Motion. I do video design for theater and have learned to love and hate on AfterEffects. But, back in the day that's how I learned. I spent hours watching tutorials.
