Why doesn't Apple implement a notification system so we know when an artist we follow uploads new material!?

iTunes used to provide such functionality, years ago. I used it for a few artists. Not sure if its still there.

will we be able to download and purchase these remixes or is this another nail against those of us that want to own?

circles with layers of color. i'm sure this has never been done before.
They were just stating that it looked like it, not criticizing it for being some form of copy...

Looks like Tycho album art.

The only reason I came to the comments section, was to see if we had any Tycho fans here lol.

They've tried this. Twice.

Hasn't caught on and still doesn't seem like it will.

How exactly did they try this? Like soundcloud just allow notifications for these exact types of events.

Well there is Connect but it seems like no one still has caught onto that either but if you are looking for new music from specific artist Connect is one way.

I thought connect would be the soundcloud killer but I really don't want to sift through my connect feed to see a specific artist has or hasn't uploaded new material.

Because people don't want to be bombarded with more notifications.

Like all other notifications in IOS you can select which artists/apps you'd like to receive notifications for, Shouldn't be an issue.

Are you talking about ping?

No. Native functionality that is or was in iTunes, and not related to Ping.

There used to be a feature that allowed you to enter artists / band name, and when new content appeared, you'd get notified by email.

Edit: I've tried to find this, but it appears to be gone. IRC, it was in the Account section.

Good idea, but the music industry / the artists probably won't accept it. Just wait for it. Creating art has never been more difficult.

So, Apple just adds this according to THIS very article and Spotify, from other posts have it, but somehow Apple did this first? You can't be serious?

In March, Apple struck a deal with Dubset, a music rights management firm that matches snippets in a DJ's mix to a database and pays out royalties to the original rights holders. Spotify also struck a deal with Dubset, but did so in May.

And yet, Apple still JUST implemented it. Again, are you serious?

I'm wondering how good the un-offical remixes would be due the official ones.. and weather this would include "mashups"

There already were official remixes on Apple music already. if anyone knew, so hopefully this will extend it out much more..

So now people can finally listen to my superior taste in music? That's great!!

Apple music has WRECKED iTunes, and I'm not even a subscriber! Now it's stuck on permanent shuffle, half my music is gone, it's generated new iTunes libraries randomly, and I'm getting double songs on some albums, again randomly

iTunes used to be a beautiful thing, now it's a hot mess, thanks to Apple wanting to shoehorn their idiotic subscription crap into iTunes..

I have THREE pending iTunes cases assigned to three different senior advisors, all dealing with different iTunes issues

Apple Music should have been a stand alone app, and sandboxed out of iTunes

Can we get iTunes Classic for those of us that have ZERO intention of EVER subscribing to Apple Music?

I BUY music, I don't RENT music.. I want it available across all devices with local storage, and only to shuffle if I affirmatively request it.

Is that too much to ask for?

Thanks a lot for nothing, Tim!
