I've wasted too much of my life chasing a phantom device conflict ("Looks like you’re listening on another device") and am beginning to find signs that one of The Spirits Of The Cloud is to blame:

(In circumstances like this I resent my loyalty to a firm that tends to stay silent on issues, letting users question their sanity, until they have a resolution. I get it, until I'm that insane user.)

Yea... Apple isn’t the most user friendly for tech.
When it doesn’t ‘just work’ you’re totally boned.

I agree. I am glad my auto renewal is up in a week. I would have hated to be stuck with such a buggy service for another full year.

Isn't Apple Music a monthly sub, or is there a break for an annual purchase? I have also seen this error crop up recently, but only on beta software (e.g. iOS 11, High Sierra, tvOS beta) - but it's just paused and then I hit play and it's fine... I wasn't aware it was only one device simultaneously however

Apple Music gives you a $99 pay for a year which gives you 2 free months. It is not worth the hassle. Between random songs graying out unplayable that are available on every other music service with less songs, constant password prompt stupid two step annoyance that is worse than my bank account, iCloud issues when iCloud goes down no working Apple Music and just recent over 400 saved albums randomly disappeared yet on Play Music and Spotify albums I had there for years even after canceling were all still available.

Really how can Apple Music have over 26 million subs with all the issues. I bet at least half or more of them are just paying not even using it and don't even know it or care.

Well I use it every day without too much trouble. With regard to the greyed out songs, I know what you mean and it is annoying, I did recently go through my library and sort by those unavailable songs (thankfully didn’t have a ton) and then went to Apple Music and looked for them and found them all... I’m not sure why they do that but at least for me I was able to correct that issues. Sounds like my library isn’t quite as large as yours, though.

I can’t speak to authentication problems with it generally, it’s been fine for me. Personally I’m pretty happy with it, and my library is of a size that I can download it all locally as well to avoid some of the streaming issues that occasionally do crop up.

Well many of my albums now have tracks like 1,3,4,5,6,7,8. 1,2,3,5,6,7,8. 1,4,5,6,7,8,9. Apple must think we are toddlers who can't count not noticing missing tracks. As I said they are available on every other music service except the overrated Apple Music.

I also got a email yesterday begging me to renew my sub like that is going to happen now. At least I know I won't be charged for another year of service but what a PITA it was to cancel. Going into that bloat iTunes having to keep putting my password and two step annoyance code like I am trying to log into Fort Knox I was able to chose the monthly plan then cancel right away otherwise it would not let me cancel at all with the $99 yearly plan.
