Kinda ugly. Looks like a iPad Pro shell with a new face.
Expect better.

I hate to sound negative, and I’m not tryin to hate. But this doesn’t really seem like the direction I would like to see Apple gravitate towards.

Cutting edge software matched with groundbreaking hardware use to be Apples wheel house.

The direction???

That direction was cast almost 20 years ago when the music industry was on the ropes and dying. Apple recognized that situation and stepped in with the iPod (Jobs' "1000 songs in your pocket") and a couple years later the iTunes Store where you could purchase music for 10 cents a track. Customers purchased 1 million songs within the Store's first week of operation. Apple revolutionized the industry and the rest is history.

Apple has demonstrated time and time again it can excel developing and supporting multiple product lines simultaneously.

They have one main source of revenue. ONE. The iPhone/

If that iPhone revenue dries up they are dead in the water. lmao at trillion dollar company.

Which is why Apple is moving from selling iPhones to selling to people with iPhones.

People are holding on to their iPhones longer, and that’s perfectly fine, given that they now have over 900 million active iphone users.

You have apps, Google pays Apple $9 billion a year to keep their search engine as default, then there are services (iCloud, Apple Music, news+, arcade, Apple Pay / card, TV+ helping to promote the TV+ app and sell streaming subscriptions). Wearables like the AirPods and Apple Watch, plus accessories like watch bands, adaptors and cases.

Apple will be just fine.

As award shows are seeing a large downturn in viewership we need another one? Would much rather see money spent in other areas. Not like celebrities don't already have their share.

Did they just give away the winner in this screenshot? I clearly see Billie Eilish shown as artist of the year on the award.

The body of the article mentioned who won Album of the Year, Songwriter of the year, Breakthrough artist of the Year and Song of the Year.

They’re a trillion dollar company. They can have multiple wheelhouses. Relax.
It took no less than six years for Apple to release an upgraded Mac mini. Priorities clearly do matter inside Apple, and contrary to what some think, the company doesn't have a trillion dollars to spend.

Those days are over ever since Steve Jobs himself dropped Computer from Apple Computer. Disgusting. Saw the warning sign when the iPod, which, yes, I absolutely think destroyed Apple by turning it into a toy company like Hasbro.
lol, I haven't seen this position in a long-ass time.

If Apple hadn't released the iPod, and everything else that stemmed from that, the company would be virtually irrelevant today. They'd probably be making some nice computers for a niche of enthusiasts, but the world would have passed them by.

Quite pathetic that Apple is giving "music awards"... to an industry that helped destroyed paying less than child labor rates with digital streaming.

Funny.

Why do we never hear you complaining about Google and their revenue sources?

Apple makes about 50% of their revenue off the iPhone, a product that people want. A product a large number of people like to own. For 10 years we’ve heard about the next “iPhone killer” and it never materializes. iPhone revenue will never “dry up” - it will simply stabilize (it’s at that point now) as current users upgrade. People are loyal to their ecosystem and the iPhone has a stable user base of almost 1 billion people. There isn’t going to be some catastrophic event that’s causes the iPhone to suddenly stop selling.

Google, however, makes almost 90% of their revenue off a product that people hate. Ads. Something people actively try to avoid. All it would take is a law that restricts data mining or tracking and their entire revenue source is at risk. Google could literally lose their source of revenue overnight based on some new government regulation. And with all the bad publicity surrounding data mining and tracking recently it’s almost certain that some form of regulation is coming.

Why do people here deflect to Samsung or google when someone questions Apple.

Ah yes, a faster processor isn’t an upgrade at all. Who would ever care about that?
The 2014 had a slower processor than the 2012. Don't you remember? It went from quad-core to dual-core. ;)

Slower processor, RAM went from upgradable to soldered. The integrated GPU was the only definite improvement (edit: connectivity was a little bit better with 802.11ac WiFi and Thunderbolt 2). So the 2014 refresh overall was a lateral move at best, a downgrade at worst, but definitely not an upgrade over the 2012.

It’s pretty awesome! But seems wasted on musicians but hopefully they realize the value and technology as well as it is a sign of what precious and mind boggling hardware we all take for granted every day.
how condescending can you get...
who do you think the 'pro' in your macbook pro refers to?

a perfect 12-inch disc of silicon with nanometer level flatness. Copper layers are deposited and patterned by ultraviolet lithography to create connections between billions of transistors. The result of this multi-month process, before it is sliced into hundreds of individual chips, is stunning and distinctive

It's official, Apple can make anything sound artsy-fartsy

Apple is trying to be Hollywood now with all of these award shows. First an event honoring apps and now this, but my gosh, those awards look nice....

Apple Music Awards are just the new iTunes Awards, and those existed for many years already.

That's not a deflection. Realtuner made what people call a comparison, differentiating Apple and google highest revenue products and their respective markets.

If Apple didn’t focus on an friggin MP3 player, they would have dumped resources into the Mac. Which is a computer. As in Apple Computer. And Macs today would then be somewhat on par with Linux machines and Surface.
