i've searched and found some info confirming an issue i've been having - that the last couple of versions of iTunes have broken the search function of Apple Music.
every time i use the search it leads to a blank screen with 'An Error Occurred' being the only information, with a retry button which leads to the same thing.
the anecdote i found was on an Apple support site, a question answered by a customer who said she/he'd been in touch with Apple engineers who suggested they upgrade their OS.
it basically renders Apple Music useless (except if you have an ios device and icloud library enabled and can work around it by adding songs on it - i can still see my library here on the Mac at least.)
i can't help but feel, as a software developer, that there's no technical reason they couldn't have maintained compatibility with 10.9.5. i get that new OS frameworks are introduced, but the simple act of searching their database must have been a solved problem by now?
hopefully they will patch it. i tried downloading an earlier version of iTunes via the support site, but the icons all appear as a grey-outlined white square with 'Download Icon' written inside but no link. (Is Safari also dead on Mavericks?)
