not quite. they bought primephonic for their classical metadata, and split off all the classical stuff to its own app and applied the metadata to it. this was a herculean task, and the resulting search and organization in the classical app is magical.
They rebanded primephonic app to be Apple classic.

Oh and there is the Notes disappearing on iPhones and iPads and no explanation from Apple on how to get them back
That was some top-tier buffoonery, especially for someone like me who relies heavily on the Notes app. 😥
Fortunately, the Notes were always in iCloud, even if they disappeared from phones. Here’s the fix for anyone who hasn’t seen it:

They bought an app and rebranded it. The app they bought did not have CarPlay.
Creator of all the code that goes into all that entails just so happens to be the wealthiest company in the world. But can’t manage to do what a one man developer team could accomplish. Took Apple 8 months to put an iPad app out after releasing the rebranded phone app. It’s not a good sign, nor is it a good look. One of the myriad signs that Apple is hopelessly lost these days.

Does Apple not allow the iOS Classical app to work on Apple Silicon macs?
Thats right, the same for the nicer IPadOS Classical app. You need to specifically browse to Apple Music Classical with Apple Music on a Mac to see most of the content, but its not quite organized in the same manner, same with the lack of Classical's search differences. :)

So ridiculous. Why isn’t this available- how can they (Apple) expect others to make iPad apps available on the Mac if they won’t do it themselves. No excuse for that.

That’s insane. Apple isn’t leading from the front at all.

There are so many errors in the cataloging of music that carried over from primephonic that I’ve found. There’s so many classical recordings that never made it to cd from lp. Many that didn’t get to online or streaming from cd. And there’s lots of Soviet Union era Russian music recordings with wrong metadata. Also names get messed up in translation with multiple different spellings on recordings. My friend specializes in mid 20th century American music as a publisher and performer and that’s all a mess too. Even the scores are hard to find and out of print if even published. Lots of lost music.

Now can we separate Apple Music Classical from regular Apple Music? I don’t want classical music randomly playing when I’m listening to the regular Apple Music. This is why I don’t use the classical app anymore
Yes -- this is a big issue. I listen to a ton of classical music and love the app, but separately want to use Apple's automatically-created stations in Apple Music. The stations should be based on my Apple Music history, not my classical history in the Classical app.

Also, it should be possible to entirely exclude genres in the automatically-created stations in Apple Music.

Totally agree I wish they were actually kept separate since they are separate apps.

This would actually be a good workaround because then you could exclude Classical. The curated stations on Apple Music are generally not very good IMO. They need to figure out what Spotify is doing and copy it. Even something as simple as excluding a certain genre from a playlist would be very helpful. I listen to everything but not at the same time. I don’t want to hear Beethoven's fifth symphony right after Rammstein 😂

Any connoisseur of the cheat-codes to play Classical playlists on Homepod?
After today update, I say "Play The Works on Apple Music Classical" and it responded back that the app doesn't work with Siri.

Then, I say "Play Apple Musical Classical The Works" and it it's playing right now.

But I imagine that there's a shorter command...I hope

Please allow me to contain my *shock* that Siri function wasn't helpful or intuitive
