Depends on the way your brain is wired I suppose. Not an insult just a different way of working - It's fantastic for me and don[t have any issues. Simple to offline what you want and Love it on Apple TV now - I play music way more in the house now that I can just ask for it!

Agreed. Apple Music, and now the integration with the new ATV has caused us to pretty much stop watching TV unless we're specifically sitting down to watch a movie. We play music in the background a talk a bunch more than we used to. And it's brought a level of peace and quiet to the home that was never there before.

If it were really THAT bad, they wouldn't have so many subscribers thus far, would they?

You'd be surprised how many people settle for an "Okay" experience over a "great" experience. Look at how many people shop Android.

Since they get an email every month that money was charged to their credit card for it, I would assume if there really are people that 'forgot', that they would have canceled it right away after seeing that they are being charged

I personally think it is a very silly claim that there is some notable percentage of people that forgot to cancel.

I think you would be shocked. My bother and my parents both keep it and never use it. They signed up for the free trial and just let it charge over and over. Similar to people with netflix. I know tons of people who pay for it, but never use it. The free trail thing really works.

I subscribe to both Apple Music and Spotify - I think they're both worth it. I like having my music organised in iTunes a mix of my own stuff, rips, unreleased projects, DJ mixes etc mixed in with official releases all from Apple Music - but I prefer navigating and discovering on Spotify, their music recommendations are much better than Apple music (the discover playlist is the best thing in the business) - Apple musics recommendations, despite all the "hand picked" hype are truly diabolical - the "for you" tab is beyond useless for anyone actually into music..."here is an introduction to one of your favourite artists" oh great, thanks for that Apple!

Spotify's activity lists are also better and easier to browse - Apple has theirs hidden away on the new tab about half way down and they're clunky to navigate through and generally rubbish when you get there.

For me also on a pretty poor internet connection Apple music (like all Apple online services) is SLLLLOOOWWWW. Where as Spotify is instant. So its much easier to quickly browse music on Spotify. To take the pain out of track skipping in Apple Music I download most the tracks. On a very good internet connection its almost as fast as Spotify though, it just appears Apple has zero optimisation, which isn't surprisingly as its effectively the same system as the iTunes store which has also been deathly slow for me.

I don't think Apple Music is expensive enough. They should go back to forcing people to buy the music. :D

Actually, my wife loves spotify but the free version with commercials. I love to buy my music and not stream it. In the end to each his own, I guess. But I believe that in the long run I probably pay for about the same or just a little less by buying than by streaming. With 20k plus songs in my library I am not adding more than 10 songs per month on average. And in the end I can walk away and take my music with me.

I seriously wonder how many people have forgot to cancel after the free trail. I know that may be hard for some to believe, but so many people do this and just keep paying month after month
I believe that a much larger group of people fall into the "Accidentally Kept It" category than most would believe.

In fact it's a proven fact that if given a free trial period for any service or subscription, the American buyers will just keep paying the bill. It's a tried and true marketing trick.

Let's see...

1. Duplicate tracks end up in playlist. No warning like itunes has that you're adding duplicates.

2. Already purchased music (but not downloaded) doesn't show up in the my music app.

3...lunch is over at work. gotta go lol.

So far, I do kinda like it. Ran into itunes music I've bought not being available on apple music already, so I've had to download the tracks to my computer, just to reupload. Now that's stupid & aggravating..

I would really like to use beats radio for discovering new music but it is so unbelievably bad that it spoils the Apple Music experience. The much hyped radio is ridiculous

My only question: when will it work with the Watch? That's the only reason I haven't tried it yet (still with Spotify)... I'm just waiting to see which service supports the Watch with offline music play first...

If you mean music that you've added from Apple Music, that's been available since day one. Just create a playlist in the Music app and then sync that playlist through the watch app under 'Music'. Once it's done, it'll be stored on your Watch without the need of your phone

I am a total convert to Apple Music. I would never have paid for Spotify but to access 99.9% of iTunes directly to all my devices? I was sceptical at first but it just won me over. Being able to listen to pretty much anything at any time plus the playlists did it for me. Even better with the update to iCloud storage now I can listen to all my own music too.

This would apply to every service. All of the services have trials. It is one of the reasons they all have ultra-cheap trial periods.

When the other services get Siri control on iOS, Siri on AppleTV4, and work as well with the nav system in my car, I may try them again. Right now, Apple Music has those advantages and they are huge advantages for my use.

i tried apple music but ever since youtube red. I subscribed to play music which also gives me offline playback, ad free videos

Dear Apple:

You have all the content, hardware and great ideas you need for this to work.
Now just Kill iTunes (with fire, twice), then we all come back.
Sincerely
//Everyone :)

They've got to make a switch to make all music available offline without ever having to touch anything again. That is the only issue I've got with the service.

I don't get it? Like your whole collection would just download as you keep adding songs? The obvious issue is most people's music libraries exceed the storage space on their devices. Thus you pic and choose what to keep on your list.

Yes, it is so silly to ask... Spotify has had this feature for years now. It isn't an issue whatsoever.

OK, I must be stupid or something because I can not see how what you are suggesting is remotely possible. You want ALL music to be available OFFLINE... without selecting any option to download anything. How is that possible? If you are OFFLINE, then there is no connection to the service so all the music would need to be residing on your device. How exactly is that possible?

Well you are talking your own collection... he was suggesting that ALL music is available offline. I'm taking that to mean ALL music in Apple Music's library since there would be no way it could no ahead of time what I was going to want to listen to.

Since I haven't tried the Apple Music subscription yet can anyone tell me if an Apple music subscription works with smartlist? I'd love it if I could make a smartlist like songs released 2015 or later rated 3 stars or higher and as I rate music offline it would automatically download to my device when on wifi if I select said smart list to download and sync to my device. This is what other subscription services are missing if Apple Music has this ability despite how bad the app is this might make it worthwhile.

Yes, i'm surprised it works...

Apple has surprised me :D Maybe with all their ruthless adverting they do, they may not care that much about fixing the stuff-ups of libraries...

The advertising works well..... It may take them that long to get everything polished.

I'm still grabbing what i want anyway. so Apple has to do more than this to show me proof, but so far so good..
