Apple Music is introducing new top music charts for regional and global markets, reports Rolling Stone. Starting today, the music service will offer up 116 "Daily Top 100" charts that display the top-streamed songs on Apple Music.

Charts, which are refreshed each day at 12:00 a.m. Pacific Time, are available for every country where Apple Music is available, plus there's a single global chart that aggregates the top songs worldwide.

Apple Music executives demonstrated the new feature for Rolling Stone, with the new charts located under the "Browse" tab with a visual appearance similar to playlists or albums.

The Apple Music service previously featured a Top Charts section in the Browse portion of the app, but it was limited to a select number of songs, playlists, albums, and videos with no breakdown by country.

It's not entirely clear exactly when the new top 100 charts will be available, but Rolling Stone mentions a software update, which suggests the feature is rolling out over the air. Access to the charts should be available soon.

This what I wanted. But it is kind of useless for me. Cause even though I can see the top 100 songs. It’s not in a playlist format which I want. This just shows the songs. But you have to download them individually.

Good to hear. I’ve tried them all (Spotify, Deezer, Tidal etc) and Apple Music just about edges it for me.

Wooo! I sent this in as a suggestion myself a few months ago. The charts in my country are filled with kpop songs, only reason I’ve kepy spotify is to check the global charts.

Apple finally faces the reality, that what ever Beats or Johnny Iovine was trying to sell them, "The next Song" is not working.

Three years after they launched..... I guess better late than never. Although I have moved to Spotify and don't plan to comeback any time soon. Having paid my loyalty to Apple in return for a complete pieces of crap.

But, will 90% of the artists in these lists still be represented only by a gray microphone as their photo? Yes? Oh, well. Keep trying, Apple! You plucky little resource-starved upstart.

Being in the US, I guess it will be refreshing to see other countries Top 100 lists not full of RAP and HIP HOP.

I was thinking the exact same thing. I just looked now and the majority of the top tracks on AM are hip-hop/rap.

This is why I prefer Spotify. I like a fair amount of hip-hop/rap, but I certainly don't like it being shoved down my throat like Apple does with the incessant playlists that they constantly recommend.

Yet another way to push over-commercialized and pop music
Just goes to show how very little you know, pop music has been on a steady decline for a while now. People aren't listening like they used to and pop music's heyday is long gone. Hip-hop and rap have been at the forefront of the music industry for the past couple of years in the US.

Listen to the band - Greta Van Fleet. Bring back the jam!
Saw them at Coachella for the first time, they were a pleasant surprise.

I'm still annoyed with the Apple Music iOS app where if I lookup my local songs by Genre, I HAVE TO open up the Artist Block EVERY F*ing time to look up ALL the songs I have for them.
