Apple today revealed a few major updates coming to Apple Music later this year in iOS 26, including the ability to pin content you return to frequently.

Apple calls this feature "Music pins," and it'll let you pin playlists, albums, and artists at the top of your Library tab.

Apple Music is also gaining lyrics translation and lyrics pronunciation, so that it's easier to listen to and appreciate music from all over the world.

There's also a new "AutoMix" feature that uses intelligence to transition from one song to the next like a DJ.

Haven't watched the keynote but I'm assuming ios still doesn't have smart playlist functionality? I'm still baffled why this hasn't been added. Not to mention BPM would be nice in apple music as well to make exercise playlists.

This is actually a good feature I've been waiting for for a very long time, so that's cool at least.

This feels useful, but not exactly the feature I'd expect to be pointed out at a keynote.

Apple Music is okay, but what I really miss from Spotify is a better algorithm to discover new music.

Can't wait to try Automix on my main playlist which is full of all kinds of varying music genres across many decades. I bet it makes for some weird results.

Funny how tiny features that are not new in other apps get its own news articles, like for example calculator app coming to iPad!

How about instead of this they make playlists that go on forever instead of repeating the same 20 songs or so. Any Apple Music playlist i play starts repeating songs shortly after I start it. Use some of that ai on music selection instead of mixing between songs

I’m sure I’ll make use of pinning artists, so that’s a good thing.

The Fine Article doesn’t mention my #1 request, sadly: being able to import audio files into my music library from the Files app (or heck, even from the share menu).

Saw couple of videos on YouTube that talk about YouTubers moved from Apple Music to Spotify just for the new AI DJ feature.😂

More features that I personally don’t want. You know what would be nice? It would be nice if they would fix the thing they broke with iTunes 7.3, I think. I want to be able to alphabetize my playlists. Nothing more, nothing less. I want playlists that start with numbers at the top, and playlists from A-to-Z below that. Shouldn’t be that hard to do, but I guess it is. I have never gotten a straight answer from anyone as to why this is not possible.

hopefully they'll let us pin radio stations, or at least add our favourite ones to a playlist, because they drop off the screen so quick and you have to go through the rigmarole of finding them again.
