I’m in the same boat. For reasons only known to apple it looks like the A13 is the cut off. Interesting and sad for this recent purchaser of the A12 Apple TV.
I mean I also bought the 2nd gen 4K 64GB ... but I don't care ... it's enough for 4K@60 and has Thread support ... that karaoke thing is just a useless marketing crap imocould i go back to the apple store and force them to exchange my more expensive TV4K 64GB 2nd GEN bought in april for the new one with 128GB, that friggin' costs less?
I’d rather them sort the ARC (beta) on the current version than have karaoke built in.I mean I also bought the 2nd gen 4K 64GB ... but I don't care ... it's enough for 4K@60 and has Thread support ... that karaoke thing is just a useless marketing crap imo
Did you update to iOS 16.2? And did you try it on a song that supports it? The 12.9 inch iPad Pro with M1 does support it.View attachment 2126507
Well, I was not able to turn on the feature on my iPad Pro 12.9" M1 and found out the above list from 9to5Mac.

I think something went wrong when I was posting this. Yes, iPad Pro 12.9" M1 DOES support the Apple Music Sing. I was wrong with unsupported songs and lyrics at the time.
It wasn't in the article when it was first posted. Both these iPad Airs are listed as supported devices.
