    Hey everyone,

We are 4 members of my family who want to share Apple Music. Apple's official statement is that up to six family members can share. Does that mean six devices or members? I'm asking because we have 3 iPhones, 3 iPad, 1 MacBook, 1 PC and 1 Apple TV which obviously are more than six member/devices.

These seven devices are spread across 4 different Apple ID's. Will we be able to stream music simultaneously on all 9 devices with Family sharing?

Sharing is dependent on up to 6 apple IDs that are part of a family sharing setup.

    From Apple website:

With an Apple Music family membership, up to six people in your family can enjoy unlimited access to Apple Music on their devices. Everyone gets full, individual access to the Apple Music library, expert recommendations, 24/7 worldwide radio with Beats 1, and unlimited skips on all other curated radio stations. It’s the whole world of music for the whole family.

I get that, but what if those up to 6 members have more than one device each?

In our family with have more than 6 devices (Macs, iPhones, iPads) signed into and working perfectly with Apple Music. However, you cannot use more than one device at a time under a particular ID.

And it's all under one family subscription and not individual subscriptions?

Yes, same here. You can use AM individually by Apple ID on any and all devices. But as mentioned only one device at a time under family sharing.

Apple should of actually worded it differently..

"6 devices" NOT "6 people" because as mentioned more than one person can have more than one device over-all, and since its tired to Apple id and serial number.. u'd u up 6 devices pretty quickly.

It is 6 different Apple IDs who are part of a family sharing plan. But each individual can only play AM on one device at a time.
