Well, I've found that this update didn't properly list some alternate versions that I was expecting. It looks like they still have a ways to go to map all of the alternate versions to the main ones and vice versa.

Are parents only allowed to listen to Air Supply?

I just heard an Air Supply song from a cover band recently and I was floored at how complex their songwriting was. They may be a mostly one dimensional 80's cliche for the most part, but take a good look at their songwriting. Those are not ordinary "oooh-baby baby" pop songs.

As a part time uber and Lyft driver and a uncle of four I appreciate this update.. apple has made it harder to find clean versions of popular music.. so I have been rocking with pandora for a lot of my modern music....

Because most remasters suck, thats why. I know maybe two or three remasters that improve the original, the rest sucks.

I wonder how a clean version of some Cannibal Corpse album would work:)
How can they suck? if you have a modern stereo especially in a new car, non-remastered albums sound like they're coming out of a tin can with no bass. Audiophiles can whine all they want about what's lost. streaming music is compressed anyways. I'd at least like to have my albums from the 90s and before have some kick to them

furthermore why does Apple Music release both the regular album release and the Deluxe bonus track version... in the digital realm this is just silly

I complained about this sometime ago on reddit and someone pointed out that sometimes the remastered version is worse, I think that’s why they don’t Automatically replace it.
That’s exactly it. The remastered version of some albums are quite different than the original master. They keep the original on the for the purists who want the album as it originally sounded.

I like it. Now if only Apple Music would provide clean versions of every explicit album...This father of three would love it.

Love this suggestions -- just filed an enhancement request with Apple. I suggest you do the same using the "Feedback Assistant" app. The more people suggest it the better chance that they will escalate it.

Google Music could use this too. It drives me wild that this isn't a out-of-the-box feature. I don't know what Apple Music is like but do they also lump singles in the "albums" category when viewing an artist's discography?

When did they finally start grouping EPs with singles? It’s like a dream come true!

Uh oh, I can't easily get to the expanded version of Psychocandy by the Jesus and Mary Chain. Apple, I'm gonna have to go Jack Black on you if this doesn't get fixed.

(Major nerd points if you got that reference.)

Apple Music seems to have got worse imo. I used to be able to find new music but it now just seems to be the same stuff playing. Even the playlists they promote aren't relevant. I thought I would try the top 100 tunes in the UK today but was surprised to hear several Christmas songs. Sure, they may have been popular in December, but the only reason I can see them being popular in February is being Apple is autoplaying them!

I'd love the option to toggle between playing clean/edited music only and explicit/original music only. Apple has a way to turn off explicit content on apple music but there is no way to eliminate clean/edited versions from playing.

They need to put a settings toggle for showing/hiding 'Remixes' and to allow you to pick to only show either explicit/clean versions through the whole Apple Music Store.
These both would clean up Apple Music ten fold.

Theres one thing missing from the Music UI which really bugs me. I am oldschool and have all my own music loaded on my phone. When I am viewing one song and I click on the artist name in red it takes me to the album that song is from. Then when I try to click on the artist's name to view all the artist's music it doesn't work. Why oh why can I not click on the Artist name and go to that Artist's music? It seems like such a obvious intuitive thing to do and it doesnt work. Really frustrates me.

Man, if they had clean versions of everything I could turn off the “Allow Explicit Music” setting and life would be better.

1. Remasters are all over the place, just adding bass or making them louder does not make them better
2. Many deluxe versions have multiple remixes of the same track, repetitive dance tracks etc that make them undesirable.

Wish I could filter out all remixes, especially remix albums. No offence to the creators but they just get in the way.

I was on Spotify for like 6 years before switching to Apple Music as it's free on Verizon.

My only issue is it seems Apple Music plays the first ~0.5 second of a song in really low quality and then it jumps up to the normal streaming bitrate. It's not noticeable on lots of songs as sometimes there's no sound in that first half second, but when it is noticeble it's kind of jarring.

It is the first album under the band on Spotify.

Wow...the first 0.5 seconds? That is some serious hearing skills.

Spotify REALLY needs this on their iOS app. You can select different album versions similarly to what Apple is doing here on their desktop app, but not on their phone app. Kinda weird.
