I can't seem to get it to show up in the ADD MUSIC SERVICES tab.

This is after updating the app, closing it and several attempts
Make sure you update your system after joining the beta from the app. After your system updates Apple Music will be available in the Add Music Services section.

I don't see the use of Apple Music in a World where Spotify and Deezer is so much easier to live with.
I have tried for three months to understand it, but failed to get offline playlists etc to work as nice as it does on Spotify.

Easy: because no service offers seamless integration between my owned music library and the streaming cloud.

Example: I bought Adele's "25" last week. Ripped, imported to Apple Music. Now I can listen to it anywhere, anytime, on any device. And it shows up just like if it was added from Apple's music cloud. Same with The Beatles or any other artist that isn't on AM.

That's why I use Apple Music and not Spotify. Spotify is for the folks who base their listening off playlists, and little else.

Seems to be working quite ok but sadly the sound quality is really bad compared to TIDAL HIFI. I compare the same song on the same sonos system. Huuuge difference. I hope Apple soon deliver the quality we all deserve. Both the listeners and the artists. Also the beta dont include the possibility to edit the apple music playlist from the sonos App. You can ony create and edit sonos playlists. Also a disadvantage from TIDAL.

This is a good step in the right direction.

I suspect some day a few years from now I'll be an Apple Music customer—I own a lot of music and would love a world where I could seamlessly combine my library and streaming in the cloud.

But today, and for the foreseeable future, Apple Music is too buggy, the interface is too convoluted, the playlists are lacking, and Spotify is too good.

I finally got Apple Music to show up. After a call to sonos they had me go to my desktop computer.

We basically left the beta program and joined again. After a few minutes I was able to check for an update for the software. After the update Apple Music was listed in the services.

The beta app works fine so far. The only problem i face right now is that i do not get playlists shown in MyMusik section.
The only playlist i see is a "default one" which comes with Apple Music called "Purchased Music".

However if i go to "Apple Music-Playlists" nothing is shown...

Does anyone get self created playlists shown in the Sonos App? If yes, did you have to do something or did it just work?

Agreed - I'm usually listening on Sonos via Deezer Elite which means FLAC quality. I didn't expect there to be much of a difference but there is. Today's listening has been mainly classical followed by 80's indie.

Other than that I think it's a decent first integration (I've had none of the issues reported) that will get better with time. In an ideal world I'd prefer everything under one banner but not sure I'll be able to settle for reduction in quality.

I call BS.

There is no noticeable difference between 320 AAC and "Tidal HiFi", which is basically just FLAC/ALAC.

For your use case, streaming those two formats/bitrates will not have a difference. It's simply placebo.

Only way you would be able to tell some slight differences is to get a set of very high end cans (like the Sennheiser HD800), use cables for everything, and the files have to be present on the device so no detail is lost. And even then, you'd only notice differences in older recordings not tarnished by the loudness war.

I'll pitch in again but believe me I'm not after a 'post your references' type debate as that isn't me.

I believe I'm definitely noticing a difference in classical music, I listen to this working so generally in a calm state at computer with no distractions and very little outside noise. I notice no real difference when listening to other stuff (usually indie/electronica/80's/folk) but at this point I'm usually making dinner or up to non work things.

Also I wasn't aware that Apple Music was streamed at 320AAC, I thought it was 256AAC (and to be honest not sure what the difference is).

Anyhow my tuppence worth and no I wouldn't rule out the placebo effect.

Well it doesn't sound good, but I feel it has nothing to do with bitrate as it still sounds bad playing lossless from our NAS library.

We just received the new Play:5 at the end of last week and set it up in anticipation of being able to use Apple Music. I was actually rather shocked at how poor it sounds, it isn't as good as our ancient Apple Hi-Fi, and it is not even in the same league as the B&W MM-1 we use on our desktop.

The Sonos has a sort of boomy, muddy heavily DSP'ed sound that I would liken to listening to what your neighbors are playing by pressing your ear to the wall. Passages from well known songs are often unrecognizable.

Anyways quite a disappointment. We are now thinking about something like the B&W A7 or A5.

I thought the same thing until I bought a second speaker (Play 3 and then a Play 1). Night and day difference. Now I have SONOS throughout the house and it continues to blow me away.

A few people on the Sonos support page are reporting it takes about 25 mins to show up.

Under Apple Music you should see My Music > Playlists available as an option with your created Apple Music playlists. This may take some time to fully populate though.

We're aware that My Music is updating pretty slowly right now, in part it's due to the amount of people all testing it out at the same time. We'll be working with Apple to look into this.

I've been using it with our work Sonos all day and no hiccups, though I thought the whole process of having to add it through the iOS app instead of the desktop app was kinda weird. But it's been pretty great so far.

For people who own and can afford sonos setups, great news.
So says the one with all this in their signature...
"rMBP 15" / iPad 1, 3, Air, Air 2 / iPhone 1, 3, 3G, 4, 5, 5s, & 6S+ / Imac 27" i7 2009 / Mac Mini 2010 / iPod 5GB, 10GB, 3rd gen, U2, video, 7th Gen / PC: x79 3970x 2xTitan / Nexus 7 / Note 4 / Nokia 930 / Retina MB 1.2 / SB Apple Watch / 17" 2009 MBP / iPad Pro 128 LTE"

Anyone who is as much of an Apple fan as that (or pretty much anyone on this forum) can afford a Sonos setup...

So stay with Spotify?

Apple is the new kid on the block at the moment but they've been working pretty quickly on it. Spotify had some ridiculous issues for a long time, don't forget. I also like Apple Music's playlists (which was also a big reason I used Beats before).

It's very counter-intuitive. I just wish they had integrated the Apple Music into the On This Phone section rather than a separate stream. Suppose I'll get used to it, but it's a little confusing!

Imho if should be separate, essentially so i can contol it from any controller (not just the apple based ones).

Why wait? a pair of Play:1 speakers are $50 off right now. I have 4 of them. I am planning to get the Playbar and sub before my 2nd kid is born and I have zero dollars to spend moving forward.

Wait till ur kids start messing with each others music (yes, some years to go...) and causing a 'music war'. I asked sonos if they had any access control and was sadly told no.

I also updated my Sonos to the beta version and would just like to listen to Beats 1 without the need for an Apple Music subscription... Is that somehow possible with Sonos?
