This was literally the standout feature that Apple stripped out of Beats Music when AM launched over 10 years ago.
I’m so glad someone else remembers the scriptures.
I was so mad at those amazing features they took away from Beats Music. I was in Canada but used Beats Music with a VPN because it was amazing for discovery

What are your better ideas then?
I'm not an iPhone and computer manufacturer or employee so it's not my job to have good ideas in that field, but here is my idea.

Have a big button that turns off all AI functions and doesn't try to install those parts of software.

Yes I remember before Apple acquired Beats setting it up with those little bubbles with musical styles and so on. And then combining bubbles to make interesting combinations. I dont recall clearly, but something like “smooth jazz” while “in the bath” and feeling “angry”.

That sounds like a more useful UI: Present options and let the user select a few.

I think it’s interesting that computer interaction evolved from command-line prompting (pre 1980’s) to WIMP (Windows, Icon, Mouse, Pointer) to make it easier for the user since they no longer needed to learn all the different commands.

And here we are a few decades later, reverting to a word-based UI. Admittedly it’s natural-language prompting now (not as much to remember) but you and I could issue the same prompts and get two entirely different results.

Is that really progress?

Same in Czechia. So this feature isn’t available yet in EU and UK. As you say, must be ‘US only’ for now.
I wish Apple would post a list on their website of changes in each build - and specify which is global and which is region specific. I would expect this feature is going to be US only in 26.4 and expand from 26.5, they don’t want too many users stressing the servers all at once so will probably release it gradually.

I just want Siri not to take me to Apple Radio when I search for a track that exists in Music. I don’t subscribe to Radio.

Why is everyting called
Reading both comments up here I understand how ideological are people. Those IA tools are handy and can be used or not. Many users will love these features. Do you hate generative AI/Chat bot? I understand and quite agree, instead these tools are only good addition.
What is and isn't AI? These days if Microsoft added a feature to Excell that automaticaly recalculated every cell after changing one number would be called AI, e.g., "Wow, change one number and the whole sheet updates!"

Because we know the US-centric tech press won’t bother their backsides with considering the rest of the world, unless spoon fed the info.

How hard would it be for Macrumors to have a handful of people from other countries (including some not in the oft-blessed countries of CA, UK, AU) they can check with. They’re perfectly happy to serve ads to the whole world, so it’s only fair they actually pay us some attention.

It’ll probably be a US English only feature in the first beta and expand to more languages later.
