Anyone else noticing frequent hangs in Apple Music on the X or other iPhone devices? (iPad is much more stable).

I’ve never had this many hangs on any Apple App since the 3GS...

Not unless the iPhone is switching between a know Wifi network and Cellular - then there is an occasional hiccup. Otherwise it works fine on iPhone 11. (Had no issues previously on iPhone X and XS but those were obviously earlier versions of Apple Music and iOS.

Was having so many crashes with mine (iPhone X), was about to rage quit and buy an Android phone. I ended up DFU restoring my phone which helped a lot (also helped with my phone getting crazy hot sometimes, like the CPU/GPU was at 100%), but it still has the occasional crash.

Strangely, it never crashed for me. It just froze, & even after force quitting, it remained in that frozen state upon re-opening...

Thanks for the replies.

When opening Apple Music I could maybe get to another tab before it would just hang for a few seconds before returning to the home screen. Sometimes it would get really bad, even after closing the app or restarting the phone it would hang every time I try to open it. I deleted the app and reinstalled, which I thought fixed the issue, but after a while the same thing kept happening (also tried factory resetting), after I decided to put the phone into DFU mode and restore.

Now I just get an occasional hang when returning to the app. I can be listening to music fine, but when I try to skip track nothing happens, just keeps playing. From there when I switch to the app it will hang and crash.

When did you notice it first happening? IOS13?

It's still very flaky. Apple Music froze mid-song for the first time. I let it sit there, thinking the song was buffering, but 5 minutes later, I opened the App & it crashed.

What is going on with this App...

I gave up cancelled my sub. In doing that, it will probably be fixed next update.. But now I can use the Spotify client on my desktop.
Never thought I’d say that I could understand someone cancelling Apple Music due to poor App performance, but it’s so bad, I get it.

Apple Music even crashes in CarPlay. Did it twice in 30 minutes the other day.

This is still the worst Factory IOS App due to the non-responsive taps...It’s very slow to respond when it does detect your tap, or it just registers it as a long press (Haptic Touch menus appear).

Does anyone else still get this??

I admire your diedication sticking to it! Browsing forums and reddit all the time I have not seen issues with Apple Music come up.
Damn. It must be something to do with my (our) specific setups then. Times like these, I wish it were widespread...
