Hi all,

Big Sur made me unhappy, Monterey made me desperate. The Music app makes me long for the times of iTunes where nothing ever glitched and the future was bright. Adding albums to new playlists, reordering tracks, and of course the impossibility to enforce upload of mismatched track… I could go on, but you know what I mean.

I'm looking for an alternative that also enables me to stream Apple Music as a subscriber. It looks like iOS has at least one, Marvis Pro. I've got an M1 laptop, but it requires Apple's iOS/iPadOS Music app to work.

Is there anything? Not a local file only player, it needs to support Apple Music streaming.

Thanks for any suggestions!

Do you know that you can KEEP USING iTUNES, even with the newest Macs, even with Monterey?

There's a free utility named "Retroactive" that will install and modify iTunes so that it will work with the newest OS's and hardware -- just like it worked before.

I strongly suggest you give it a try:

I'll give this a try! I have NEVER expected to miss iTunes. The Cloud Music Library sync in Monterey is the worst – I hope this is actually the Music app's fault, not the OS's. Thank you!
