Has there been any word of dolby atmos support in Windows 10? Either via the crappy iTunes app or Apple Music website?

EDIT: no iTunes updates, but the spatial audio is available on the Apple Music website and working well on the demo tracks. Not sure how to tell if actual albums that are being played back in dolby though.

Why wouldn’t you? Your download is different format
Again, I realize that, but the fact that you literally have to check every album to see if lossless is available, then remove it from your library, then redownload it individually, is the LEAST apple thing I would have ever expected from Apple. Where is the ‘upgrade library’ option? I mean it’s literally absurd. Even if I go to the spatial audio playlist on Apple Music, and hit play, if any of those tracks happen to already be in my downloaded library, it won’t play the spatial audio track. Like come on y’all, it should ‘just work’.

For those saying RIP Tidal right now a free Tidal subscription is currently the only way to actually get Atmos music onto my Atmos home theatres without spending £170 on an Apple TV.

Tidal has an app that works on my Sony Android TV which passes Atmos perfectly to my receiver, right now Apple has nothing like that which is ridiculous in my opinion. They’ve been porting Apple TV+ to as many platforms as possible but then haven’t bothered with Apple Music, my Sony TV is fully Dolby Atmos/Vision/HomeKit/AirPlay 2/AppleTV+ compliant but I sure as hell can’t get Atmos music from Apple working on it. The fact that it’s not on PlayStation or Xbox is practically handing subscribers over to Spotify which is available on those platforms.

When Atmos music is played over a home theatre it sounds absolutely amazing, and it’s a shame that after my free subscription to Tidal runs out I’ll have to go back to normal music again until Apple can pull their finger out, I won’t be subscribing to Tidal full time as I already have Apple One for the family and I’m not paying double for music, and as for Apple TV I refuse to buy it just for Atmos music as I have multiple other devices that do everything else an Apple TV can do so it would be a waste of money and precious HDMI port.
There are other reasons why an appletv is worth it but it’s really mot that much for what it does and upgrading them once every 4 years with a resale value of 60-75% of the original costs its not bad. I sold all my older appletv’s for 50$ less than i paid for it and bought the new ones.
dealing with arc I dont like. No on screen controls from your receiver to the tv using the tv’s apps.
Theres no infuse app besides on appletv which is much better than plex. But if you dont use plex then forget about it.
you can’t airplay to your receiver with the tv off also. I airplay rain sounds or whatever sounds to go to sleep over my surround sound at night. So that in itself is worth the cost of an appletv imo.
Apps are updated more Frequently and having your phone or apple warch as the remote control is also huge. On screen keyboard. You dont get any of that with tv‘s apps.
I also have a Sony oled but don’t use the on board apps besides the Netflix Dolby vision mastered but thats about it.

This hasn’t been my experience. If a track was in my library. It’s definitely playing in Dolby atmos if I have it turned on. Honestly, you aren’t missing much. The tracks don’t sound that good. The engineers need to make songs originally in atmos format

RIP Tidal. Spotify’s days may be numbered. Why didn’t they have spatial audio or Dolby Atmos support? Why is it Apple that does these things first? Music isn’t the only thing Apple does, but it’s pretty much all Spotify does (along with Poscasts)
Lol no way,Spotify will be hard to beat, maybe in US there’s equal / closer share of Spotify and Apple Music but elsewhere Spotify is ruling despite all free 6 months Apple Music trials..

Even if it’s downloaded? Interesting. but yes The songs I have managed to listen to in Dolby have been underwhelming. Conversely I assumed lossless wouldn’t make a big difference and I have found it much more impactful than I thought it’d be.
