Apple Music Apple Music subscription lapsed. I resubscribed but all my "loved" songs and playlists are gone...

My Apple Music subscription lapsed a few weeks ago. I just resubscribed, expecting to see all the songs I added to various playlists and "loved" etc in my library again, but it appears Apple doesn't same any of this is your subscription lapses and then you resubscribe???

Can that possibly be right? Why would Apple ditch all your songs and make you start from scratch again?

That sounds about right, if you are not subscribing to have access to those tracks then the playlists get deleted.

I didn’t subscribe after my free trial in 2015 until 2018 & all my songs came back. Contact Apple support.
