sooo thats why my IPAD 2017 will not work with the amazon echo 2016 as of just last thursday, whatta bunch of 2018 jive turkeys!

Now if they would Allow Apple Music on Google home devices, I would switch to Apple music and get an Apple Speaker. At the moment have a Spotify Family subscription which my brother uses with Google devices. It is the main reason we haven't moved to Apple Music, because he wouldn't be able to use it and I haven't got an Apple speaker because it doesn't support Spotify (just have Airplay Express + speakers around the home).

Spreading Apple services and products using amazon’s services / platforms will serve the company well.

Time to buy more shares of AAPL.

If you can’t better them, join them. Sad. :apple:
Apple is not going to compete with a company that practically gives the hardware away. As a speaker, HomePod is miles ahead of Alexa speakers for pure audio quality. This give Apple an additional customer base for Apple Music as a service, and it means people can shut up about wanting a $29 HomePod that Apple was never going to produce.

So how much are amazon paying apple for this?
Probably nothing. As @mattopotamus mentioned, it's probably part of the deal to bring more Apple products to the Amazon marketplace. Apple wants more subscribers and Amazon wants to sell more Echos so that we buy more stuff from Amazon. Nobody needs to pay anybody.

Valid points. I’m just not a supporter of Amazon taking over the globe. :apple:

Makes me feel that Apple is beginning to feel some pressure on their end to expand services. I would expect this trend to continue over the next few years with a variety of products and services. It's time to open the gates a bit. I gave away all my Echo devices for HomePod's earlier this year, but this is good for Amazon users.

Yeah, it does not bother me to be honest.

How can you say that? So, If you discuss with your partner in the privacy of your own house an illness you have, and the speakers pick this information up and add it to your profile, then you wouldn’t have a problem with that? Even if that information gets used to promote certain products, raise insurance premiums, or is used against you from getting a new job? Privacy is so much more than getting caught in something illegal.

Still amazes me that people are happy to have these 'smart' speakers in their homes. Who really trusts the likes of Amazon & particularly Google with your data & privacy? Not me.

Your "Privacy World" fantasy hasn't existed since the 1940's.

Guess what. Posting such thoughts has you on "the list" now and they are watching you very closely for the rest of your life.

Tin foil hat. The amount of processing required would be excessive to handle all the data load.

Also, it’s easily testable: chrck how much data is being sent from the device - given the amount of background conversation.

Could be, but it's a separate list from what advertisers currently have with your personal preferences, religion, income, relationships, etc... That's the list we might control.
