Apple Music recently updated the New Music section of the "Browse" tab with a small refresh that highlights an assortment of different playlists from various musical genres. Apple sometimes pushes silent updates to Apple Music, like last summer when it added a "Coming Soon" section, more specific launch dates for albums, and updated artist profiles.

Now, in the central Browse tab of Apple Music, you'll find Apple's "Daily Top 100" playlist featured prominently at the top of the section, just below the traditional carousel of new music. These Global Top 100 playlists launched last September and have been available to listen to by navigating to Browse, scrolling down, and finding the Top Charts area. Now, they're much easier to find right at the top of Browse.

The section under Daily Top 100 is "Weekend Warrior," a list of pop, dance, hip-hop, country, and more music all centered around celebrating the weekend. Just like the Daily Top 100, these playlists have all been available in Apple Music before, but the service's organization and presentation of them is new. Slightly lower in Browse you can now find an area that features "Just Updated" playlists across genres and moods.

The rest of Browse looks mostly the same, with Hot Tracks and New Music showcasing the most popular new songs on the service. Near the bottom of the tab are a few more changes, including a "We're Loving" area that features new album recommendations from the Apple Music editors, and a "Get Down Tonight" section curating dance music. Because a few of these sections are dedicated to the weekend, it appears that Apple will more frequently update Browse with new themed areas.

It's also worth mentioning that Apple Music is highlighting a collection of classical music today in the Browse tab's main carousel, aimed at celebrating the Los Angeles Philharmonic's 100 year anniversary. This new area has albums, playlists, brief histories about the Los Angeles Philharmonic's conductors and relevant albums, music videos, and an exclusive playlist curated by Deutsche Grammophon celebrating the anniversary. Many problems still remain for classical music on Apple Music, but it's reassuring to see Apple highlight a major event in the classical world among new modern album releases.

You can check out the updates to the New Music section of the Browse tab on both macOS and iOS devices.

Really good update, heading in the right direction. I really think Browse should feel more exploratory and fun, like flipping through vinyl in a record store.

The fact you still have to Tap "New Music" to see all this AFTER already hitting the Browse tab was dumb 3 years ago and its dumb now. When you hit browse, this new stuff should pop up. Its not intuitive at all to have to tap twice to get here. Also all the items like playlists, genres , etc are now duplicated in the "new music" section. Its such a simple change to make.

Apple Music has been getting incredibly good at recommending songs that I’ve never heard but it knows I’ll love. But the way Apple Music is divided has always confused me. I never intuitively know where to go.

The For You and Browse tabs should be merged into “Home” where recommendations live alongside top charts and new albums. A Moods section should also feature prominently here. It should be dead simple to always go to Home on Apple Music and find music to listen to at any given moment.

Add a Browse button in the Search page for those who want to drill down in search of a song.

Cannot give up on Spotify until AM gets its own „New Music Friday“ „Release Radar“ and „New Music Friday Latino“ as well as a „Viva Latino“ playlists.

Well, that Top 100 is certainly not my playlist, lol.

I like that they added a Top 100 list for every single country where Apple Music is available. It lets you take a peek at what's popular around the world.

So you are waiting for Apple Music to make Spotify's playlists? The ones you specifically like? Well, there is a new music Friday in "for you", as well as a new music section where you can just make a list out of fresh singles dynamically using Siri "Hey Siri, play newly released Latin music". They have at least 5-6 different Latino stations under "Radio" as well so you are kind of covered.

I hope there's a function to filter out all the trashy pop and hip hop music that always seems to get pushed into my feed.

Something I sometimes do is on free spotify find a playlist I like and then use songshift to move that playlist over to apple music.
Songshift will remember what you have setup and just open the app and it will re-sync any new songs added to the playlist on it's own.

Many problems still remain for classical music on Apple Music”. You might want to clarify this, as it primarily impacts very few “extreme audiophiles” and “extreme aficionados” who are probably already using Tidal.

Most middle of the road fans are quite fine with classical music on Apple Music. It’s certainly as good or better than classical on Spotify, so you are creating a false narrative

They must be releasing this in stages, as I have this new layout for a few weeks now. Didn’t think much of it when I first noticed it. Still not a huge fan of the UI or the artwork. The for you suggestions don’t seem to be improving either.

They made it worse!!! They removed discoverability for third-party curators!! And to access sections you have to scroll all the way down. Lame AF

You’re right. They don’t even show up in the search results anymore. Guess Apple wants to get rid of them.
