Apple n00b Here and I need some memory advice

As my signature says I have a 15" MBP 2.5Ghz w/ 2GB of memory and I want to upgrade and add new and more memory. Do I have to use "Mac Memory" like in the Newegg Mac Memory area or can I just get any ol' SO-DIMM DDR2-PC5300/DDR2-PC6400 memory stick(s) for my machine.

It has to be 1066 MHz 204-pin DDR3.

also if you want to go from 2gb to 4gb you have to replace the existing memory with new memory; there's only 2 slots.

I use www.crucial.com The memory is good and I have had no problems with it.
