I'm glad to see A Christmas Story isn't on the list. Was never a movie I really enjoyed, but after seeing the interpretation below, I'm really glad it didn't make the list.

Apple today got in the holiday spirit by announcing (but not discounting a cent) the top five best-selling holiday movies of all time on iTunes.

Gee, thanks for making a list, Apple?

It is truly amazing the lengths that people will go to put Apple in a negative light. It is just a list. If Apple discounted those movies, people would complain that the list was skewed.

Of course one can not mention the hundreds (literally, hundreds) of movies that are discounted this week in the iTunes Store (most which are much more interesting and/or significant than the ones in the holiday list).

Negative light? The point is (and maybe it has more to do with MacRumors), why do we need a list from Apple of the top sellers? Who cares? Why is there an article about it? Why does the article start with... Apple in the holiday spirit?

No Wonderful Liff, Christmas Story, Miracle, Charlie Brown, Etc... wat.
Even Scrooged objectively whips the shag out of at least a couple of those.

I'm sure this won't sit well with some here but I absolutely HATE National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation with a vengeance. European Vacation is where it's at.

There are 4 I generally watch every year. Die Hard, A Christmas Story, Christmas Vacation. The fourth is one I find often that is so overlooked but really a great film, The Ref.

Not sure why anyone is debating what should be on the list...

People on here apparently don't understand the difference between facts (the top 5 list) vs. opinions (but that movie sucks!).

The list is what it is.

But don't you think the whole point of articles like this is to prompt discussion? I don't think anyone's challenging the actual accuracy of this list.

Holiday. Holiday. Holiday. Don't say Christmas. Someone might get offended.
It's amazing how all of the stores that go out of their way to not say "Merry Voldemort* Day!" will all be closed on December 25, closing early on December 24, and putting out all of those non-Voldemort Day celebrator with not serving them, in an effort not to offend them, like Voldemort Day celebrators are offended by "Happy Hanukkah!" or "Merry Kwanzaa!" or "May you have a spectacular Ramadan!"

*Voldemort Day, the holiday that shall not be named.
