Apple News - Switched from Region to Apple ID?

Hey everyone,

just asking around if anyone else experiences this.
I live in the EU with an EU Apple ID however my regional settings are set to the US.
Until today I was able to read all US Channels (ie. HuffPo, CNN, NYT, TWP, NatGeo..).
Seems like they switched from relying on the Regional Settings to the Apple ID (maybe as part of an upcoming subscription service?) because all of these channels are suddenly "no longer available" in my region.

Same thing happened to me. I have US store but Canadian region settings. It also could be location based. I am going back to Canada this week so i will see if it switches.

i realise your post is a little old, but im wondering the same kind of thing.
have you been able to somehow come up with a combination of apple store locatin/region setting that allows apple News app to remain usable on yr iPhone?
you are right: it did work before (i can't remember exactly when it stopped working. but at least a year or more before now).
