I believe Apple will be donating far more now without (PRODUCT)RED. This is part of Tim Cook's core mission at Apple... to leave the world in a better place than he found it.

Although I only purchase neutral colors like silver, black, or white (which I cover up with a black case), I have to say that out of all the tech companies out there, I think Apple's (PRODUCT)RED devices had the best red colors out of all the red-colored tech products on the market.

Furthermore, out of all the anodized colors Apple has ever offered, their (PRODUCT)RED products were the most standout in terms of quality of execution.

Product(red) products were so stunningly beautiful. My mom's old iPhone 8 in product red was so gorgeous I feel like the color was better suited to a Ferrari than a phone!

If Apple made product(red) other products, like Airpods, a MacBook, or even an Apple Watch, I would literally re-buy all my Apple products again at full price.
There was a product(red) Apple Watch a couple years ago with the Series 6…
And again with the Series 7…
Series 8:
And Series 9, which you can still purchase today and has all of the same features as the Series 10…

The iPhone SE 3 in product red was what I got for my grandmother, who basically had no experience with any tech newer than like, 1975. Never touched a computer, never even drove a car, has never plugged in a USB nor could they even tell you what USB is. Or “Google”. Literally no modern technical proficiency whatsoever.

It’s amazing how quickly she picked up on things. She didn’t even have to plug in the phone to charge it. It was as simple as laying it on a wireless pad. Once we put in most of her contacts (from a literal, handwritten/decades old phonebook) calling people was as easy as asking Siri. Accessibility settings allowed the phone to default to speaker whenever a call was made.
Thanks to Siri she still barely even needs to physically interact with the device. She can ask it the time, she can ask it the weather. She still does not know how to do most things with the touchscreen but she does understand how to go about some simple tasks, like viewing pictures in the Photos app or initiating a FaceTime call. All things that would have been unimaginable just a few years ago.

Having a budget iPhone in the lineup like the SE was perfect for our needs. Apple should be commended for making the iPhone available at different tiers

Given that most people use iPhones with cases, I’m genuinely pleased with the two color options available.
Hope the other models go the same path.
It's a waste to produce and release so many options.
And the iPhone users who don’t use a case, look at the back of their iPhone for two hours and then never do it again.

Aids is basically cured at this point, so why keep doing it? I mean, you can take a pill and get it so it's not detectable and you can even sleep with people with no danger of passing it on.

I was waiting for the SE to come in the traditional deep red color. Now I won’t be buying ;(
Call Bono! Future variation opportunity!

Apple really said “f the gays”, which is so strange considering Tim Cook himself is a notable LGBTQ+ figure…

I’m not entirely mad about it though, because the red phones more often than not looked like **** anyway.

You don't like the inspiring new 16e colors of "black" and "white"?

🫠 😂
Or rolling the dice on whether each generation of iPhone are going to have nice vibrant colours or feature “hint of hint of blue” or “manufactured near another factory that makes green paint”. The 15 series colours looked how La Croix tastes.

Such a shame for a good cause. Corporate greed appears to have finally torn Apple from once it rested morals.

Having said that….can we get normal ass reds? Burnt oranges?

IMO red was the best colour.

The Product Red charity was not only for HIV. It also raised money to help fight TB and Malaria.

I guess Africa is good then?!

now the money goes to another kind of charity, Apple's pockets.

Oh ok, so let’s raid the AIDS charity to give shareholders an extra 0.001% increase on their return.

What a joke.

Apple doesn't hate AIDS as much as it loves GREED.

Aside from some VERY small products (2 to be exact) no company other than Apple has made significant contributions to the (RED) campaign since 2016.

There are many reasons why companies might not be participating, one likely reason is the (RED) initiative has drawn a lot of criticism over it being more flashy than impactful, especially when compared to direct donor campaigns.

No matter the reason, it is not strange, nor greedy, if Apple followed suite and did not further participate in the program.

No whether or not Apple is keeping those funds are redirecting them is much harder to understand. Apple does make their splashy numbers known, such as their press release from a couple years ago stating $880 million raised, with more than 2 million volunteer hours logged. But super specifics in relation to programs seems to not be something Apple tracks and publishes.

I suppose anyone can assume the best, worst, or somewhere in-between on the reasons for this discontinuation. I mostly wanted to point out that Apple was basically the last major business actively participating and the program of partnering with large companies for products is basically dead anyway.
