If anything, I think the 14" iBook is the worst selling Apple portable out there. I have only seen one person with one on my campus (roughly 15,500). I think the order of sales would be 12" iBook, 15" PowerBook, 12" PowerBook, 17" PowerBook and then the 14" iBook.

I have a 12" powerbook because I needed the extra power, and superdrive (who wants to lug around an external..). of all the book owners I work with the breakdown is;

5 x 12" ibook
1 x 14" ibook
2 x 12" powerbook
1 x 17" powerbook (he recomended to 2 or 3 people to get 12 inchers)

And when at local coffee shop 12" 'books are most common, with odd 15"

no not at all.......when i was in the apple store 2 years ago to buy my 15inch, the guy there said that for every 4 15inch sold, about 1 12 is sold, and every like 2.5 17 is sold, 1 12 is sold......then i went back like 4 months ago because my frined wannted a 12, and he asked how many people buy them, and a different guy told him it was the least popular laptop

I'd think it's

1) 12" iBook
2) 12" PowerBook
3) 15" Powerbook
4) 14" iBook
5) 17" Powerbook

But that's a general observation. Maybe not with todays lineup. How woud Apple sucker people into getting a 12" PowerBook within the past few months?

I agree with Abstract and judging by the threads around here in the last few months, I'd say the 12 inch iBook is way out in front.
