Has anyone else noticed that the folders sidebar in Apple Notes is visible by default? Even if I click the "Show folders" icon to hide the sidebar, it reappears when I close and reopen the app.

Is there a setting that allows me to hide the folders sidebar permanently?

Hi,

I very much agree with this request. I couldn't find any setting for it that stays between sessions, so I'd suggest we send a friendly feedback to Apple to let us hide the sidebar by default. Especially with smaller screens, we would like to make optimal use of the available screen estate.

Yes. Very annoying behaviour.

Also, I noticed that full text search in Notes no longer works. Some older notes are not found, although containing the search query.
Seems the search index of notes is broken with the new version (4.11).

This has been bothering me since the Sonoma update. You can remove the tool bar but you can't hide folders as default. Makes no sense. I thought perhaps this latest 14.1 update would address this. But no luck.
