Great, now former developers can sell their code to active developers so the apps can come back to life. :D
Seems unlikely to me though. Those who quit developing a long time ago probably don’t even care anymore, and it is kind of unclear how far back this policy can be retroactively applied.

You can't create an iCloud email on the website, you have to create it on an Apple device in the iCloud settings. The website will not give you the option to create an iCloud email.

They don't make it very clear on the website. But it is a good thing to know. Another important thing to note is that you can only make 3 iCloud emails per Apple device. When you reach the 3 iCloud email limit, you can no longer make iCloud emails on that Apple device ever again. It's to prevent spamming iCloud account creation, but it's a stupid rule to me.

People would’ve just spam Apple ID on website regardless. They just need a bajillion addresses from other provider. Also the three account per device rule reminds me CD drive region change limit.

How many more stupid arbitrary Apple ID limits are still around out there, I wonder. And how many years would apple take to change or remove some of them.

True. Be neat to see an online repository store or auction house for older apps where former developers could sell their abandoned code for money.

Makes sense. Now if they could make a feature where users could sell their previously bought apps - I'd have nothing against a second hand digital market. Although, most iOS apps are dirt cheap, there are a few 10€+ Games/apps I'd resell/buy for 5€.

I'd even pay them 30% comission again on that second hand app-store. I mean, earning twice on the same app - seems like something apple and its shareholders would like.

I had a nightmare doing that once. Good thing.
Now let's be able to merge Apple IDs plz.

I had a tough enough time changing the developer of an app I wrote that didn't happen to use iCloud. But at least it was possible. It's still not a trivial process, but I'm glad to see that iCloud support is no longer an impediment.
