6 Macs, 2 AppleTVs (plugged in and network connected, though admittedly rarely used), 1 phone, 1 watch. I like the Macs, the rest I only tolerate because they're Mac friendly. iPhone would be chucked out a window if something else synced well.

if everyone of those devices had some sort of Apple service attached to it, be it AppleCare+ or iCloud...holy hell.

There are more than two billion active iPhones, iPads, Macs, and other Apple devices worldwide, Apple said today in the earnings report covering the first fiscal quarter of 2024.

"We are pleased to announce that our installed base of active devices has now surpassed 2.2 billion, reaching an all-time high across all products and geographic segments," said Apple CEO Tim Cook in Apple's press release.

2.2 billion active devices is a new record for the company. Apple last shared its active install base numbers in January 2023, when the company had 2 billion active devices worldwide.

Apple did not provide numbers for individual devices, but Apple has long had more than a billion active iPhones worldwide.

Me:

24 inch iMac

13 inch MacBook Air

15 inch MacBook Pro

iPhone 15 Pro Max

AirPods Pro

AirPods Pro 2

12.9 inch iPad Pro

Three Apple TV 4ks

Four AirTags

That’s 12 currently in use. My previous generation (and earlier) of devices is either archived or in the hands of my partner. She hasn’t has to buy a new Apple device (except for a phone) for years.

The oldest Apple thing I have that still boots and works fine is my original Macintosh SE. It runs system 7.1.2.
You counted wrong 😑

I bet Microsoft comes very close or even beats Apple's figure with all the devices that they own and combined with devices running their operating systems.

In our household of 2:
2 iPhones
2 iPhones for work
2 iPads
1 AirPod
2 ATVs
1 iMac
1 AirPort Extreme (still in use)
1 iPod (hardly used)
4 AirTags
plus one iPhone-4 and one iPhone-5s not in use

Accessories are devices. The distinction is for Apple’s accounting and marketing.

The airpods are listed under Accessories on apple’s online store, not as a device category like the iphone, ipad, apple watch, mac or vision pro.
